Q: During testing, why is the guest being emailed to 'verify email' then having an account created for them?
This workflow seems odd and not what I want. Is this the correct behaviour? If so, I don't think your platform is right for me.

Let me call you 8ef if that's okay with you :)
No, this switch is not available right now but it seems to be more and more desired (2 in here and others in our support channels).
I'll move it up the priority list ;)

Hi Luke,
2 things are possible: [1] anonymous flow VS current guest flow with email [2]
[1] We will support an anonymous flow in the future where a guest CAN'T come back later to edit his/her answers (as it was anonymous). Once the link is closed: only the host can see the answers.
It seems like this is the flow you are looking for ?
[2] Current flow allows guests to come back to a previous interview and edit/listen to their previous answers, or do it iteratively when they have the time to do it. In order to do so we need to verify the email.
[3] Other solution: we could imagine a "switch" on the host side to disable email validation too.
What would be the best in your situation ?
Hi Joris,
Thanks so much for the quick reply, that's much appreciated.
I think for me it was the surprise of receiving an email from Rumble, clicking 'verify' and then suddenly being dropped into an account I didn't know I'd opened nor would I have wanted to as a guest. As at no point in the workflow did I know or was I asked if I wanted to create an account - many people will dislike this and guests could be quite aggravated by this, not to mention the GDPR implications. Explicit consent was definitely not given to create the account on behalf of the guest.
I think you need to look at implementing all three of the options you've stated, giving controls to the host (account holder) but ultimately, the guest must have the option as to what happens.
For instance the guest could be asked if they like the ability to view/edit etc after completing the interview - if they select yes, then wording informing them that an account will be created for them could be shown.
For many though, I'd imagine it being anonymous (no account or editing after the fact)
Thanks again for replying so quickly.
All the best

Is the switch/toggle feature available now?
I'd like the guest to NOT be required to confirm or create user account to access the question series
Thanks again for your feedback. It's deeply appreciated.
We will definitely implement the 3 of them and improve the wording/UX on this matter.
