Q: Hi, some questions: 1.
As a riverside.fm alternative - do you allow "live" recordings for both audio (podcast) and video (videocast)? I understand the take turns approach in the software but I would like to know if the regular live approach is supported too.
2. Generally speaking, how does the video works for video casts? do you have a "studio" like in riverside.fm where you could edit the cast of each user inside the software?
3. what languages are supported for the transcripts?
4. what languages are supported for the front-end? I mean in the link you send to the participants, and in the embedded widget etc... would I be able to use this with Hebrew? also, is RTL text supported?
Thank you!
Hi Yan,
Thanks for your great questions!
1 - Riverside is used by podcasters to record live conversational podcasts, whereas we record asynchronous podcasts, so in this way we’re an alternative solution to recording podcasts. We don’t offer live recording, and don’t have any plans to add this. We don’t claim to offer feature parity with Riverside, but instead, we like to think that we’re a complementary and interesting alternative that offers many benefits that all the live podcasting solutions, including SquadCast and Zencastr, do not. For more information on the differences, I invite you to read our blog article: https://www.rumble.studio/blog/the-advantages-of-asynchronous-audio-creation
2 - Thanks to all the feedback from the AppSumo community, we will be adding functionality for creators and guests to record video directly into Rumble Studio now. Video will be recorded locally on the client device before upload (a 'double ender’ recording), avoiding any internet connectivity issues. Video will be made available on all plans, to all users regardless of when they signed up.
The exact details of this feature on each plan are yet to be confirmed i.e. the input/output video resolution, and hours of video recorded/exported per month etc. We are primarily interested in helping creators produce audio content, and in the short/medium term, will only add video features to support this objective. For example, we do not currently have plans to add video editing or video merging to our Mix feature. But audio tracks from videos will be available in the audio Mix feature.
Please vote for it in our Feedback Forum to get notified when it’s out: https://feedback.rumble.studio/feature-requests/p/record-video-in-rumble-studio
3 and 4 - You can enter any language in the fields to customise your interview. We DO support RTL text 🙂 You can use a limited set of HTML tags in a paragraph, allowing for RTL, centering etc. This was a feature requested by Sumolings, and Joris added it.
The user interface and the transcripts generated from the audio are in English for now, with more languages coming soon. French and Spanish are probably next (we're a French company, with many Spanish speakers). You can vote for the languages you’d like to see in the Language Requests tab of our Feedback Forum https://feedback.rumble.studio/
Hope that helps!
