Good to have, but might shelve it as of its current state

Our review is based off a short use of the app, and we haven't checked out everything it had to offer, but here's our overall experience with it and the rational behind our rating. (Bought the sponsor plan)

We invited some friends to a poker night using Happy Hour to get a sense of how RTW is like. None of them are the kind of people who would like to organize events that RTW allows, but because they wanted to join our poker night, they now have to receive marketing emails from RTW. It feels intrusive to the user experience and most of them were talking about how this will end up flagged as spam anyways, after leaving a bad taste in their mouth. Thus, minus one taco.

The experience during the session was quite good! Everyone could hear each other, and there wasn't any noticeable lag. However, the user interface did not come across as intuitive to some, and they had trouble being called onto the stage to join the chat. Not only, when some disconnected and returned, they had two users (same name and profile picture), which made the room messy. Lastly, when we (organizer) tried to end the happy hour session, we couldn't delete the event even after all the guests had left, and was prompted to email support. The hiccups here and there made the event feel somewhat choppy and unprofessional (luckily it was just poker night) thus we took another taco off😢.

Overall, what has been advertised to work, works! The features (cocktail party, roundtable, etc) are cool, fun, and makes the event an engaging one. But feeling forced to receive marketing emails that my guests knew from the get-go that they were disinterested in, my obligation to them as the organiser, and the hiccups during the sessions make us feel RTW may not be the best option to use for professional/corporate events, or even personal events as of the moment.

The overall consensus from my poker night groupies is somewhat turned off after feeling as though they have been aggressively marketed at, and that we should use zoom or airmeet for now.

Sadly, 3/5 for it's current state. If you're looking for a platform to host virtual events, RTW will definitely be useful. But if you care about your attendee's experiences and privacy concerns, above and beyond the activities within the event, you might want to take a rain check first and see how things pan out from here. Personally, we will be shelving our use of RTW for both business and personal events in favor of airmeet and zoom, at least until we can protect the privacy of our attendees, as our responsibility as the event organiser.

Hi there,

Thank you so much for the review! On your note about the marketing emails, being forced to click that check box was a bug in our system which we are fixing now.
