Why I built the Finder alternative I wanted

Fifteen years ago I moved to the Mac and kept reaching for controls that Finder did not give me: Return to open a folder, an editable path bar, tabs that stay put, and fast keyboard window snapping. I built SADFinder for myself first, so I could stop fighting the file manager I used all day.

Other Mac users missed the same practical controls, so the personal tool became a native macOS app. I am still building it as an independent developer in Bucharest, with a focus on speed, predictable keyboard behavior, privacy, and updates that make everyday file work less frustrating.
