Screpy - Plus Exclusive Reviews

The service and interface seem to be pretty fast, from what I can tell. I'm a little disappointed that the pagespeed feature is not available, despite it being prominently advertised on their site - this is definitely a bummer as it was a pretty big reason what got me to sign up.

The platform gave me a cool tool to use with my other AppSumo purchase (https://appsumo.com/products/websiteim-website-builder/) to optimize the two new sites I built. The tool is good, but not perfect.

Two somewhat minor issues that I discovered:
1. The platform can't seem to discern that I only have ONE home page and instead the results would indicate that I have THREE home pages.

Hence I am getting an erroneous "Duplicated H1" warning. even IF as their support says it is "caused by pages redirecting to each other", these are not distinct pages and this isn't an error that should be occurring. They do need to address this.

2. The platform also seems to fully ignore OG tags and will flag pages for "Twitter Card Incomplete" even if an equivalent OG tag is present in the markup. Though I had equivalent OG tag on my pages, I had to create the following (duplicate) Twitter tags "twitter: description" & "twitter: title" for the software to stop flagging my pages with the "Twitter Card Incomplete" warning. and BONUS.. because it cannot discern that the home page is only 1 page and not THREE pages, I still get "Twitter Card Incomplete" warning for the "three flavors" of the homepage *lol*.

Hopefully they will address and fix both of these issues soon.

Their support is not something I'm loving though. They respond. EVENTUALLY.. But maaaaaaaaan they sure do take their own sweet time doing it! *lol* I hope as the tool improves the customer service gets a LOT more responsive.

Otherwise this is a solid analysis tool and I am pleased with my purchase. I can't give them a full 5 tacos because of the slow customer service response, but they are a SOLID 4 tacos for me.

Really surprised and disappointed given the positive reviews.
1) First of all Screpy took a really long time to crawl the site. With the root domain, it spent well over 5 hours, for a site that has under 50 pages. It then returned that it had crawled 1 of 1 pages - which is insane.
2) Then I tried adding as a project, just the direct url of the blog, it also took forever here but at least pulled up 33 pages. The feedback didn't make sense in some cases where phantom errors were detected, and literally no keywords were pulled up or detected.

The fact that I'm getting more useful data and accuracy with just the basic free version if ahrefs is disappointing and means that I'll likely ask for a refund.

I've reached out to support to see if there's some error or mis-function happening and given that I'm in a different time-zone here in Europe, I'm waiting till support is online again and giving it some time to see if it's still worth keeping the software.

I've written this review because I saw a similar one from another user on trust pilot last night so I know it's not an issue isolated to just my case.

Anyway I'm happy to amend this review if the problem manages to be solved.

I bought a couple of codes to test the tool, and despite some issues at the beginning, I came back, and it is getting better in terms of features and support.
Yes, support is more responsive than before, and there are features, like competitor tracking, that are very useful for monitoring adversaries.
After all, one big part of SEO is to get to the top, and your competitors are doing the same.

I’ve been using this software primarily to identify broken links, but unfortunately, the functionality has become increasingly unreliable. It frequently flags every page as broken, even when they’re fully operational. I’ve owned this software for a couple of years, and rather than seeing improvements, I’ve noticed more bugs and issues arise with each update.

The notifications for site downtime are especially frustrating—they consistently alert me that a site is down when it isn’t, and then a few minutes later say it’s back up. This function has become unreliable and doesn’t reflect the actual site status.

While there are some SEO tools available, they lack documentation, which makes them difficult to understand or use effectively. The knowledge base is sparse, and any available help resources are limited and unclear.

Given my experience, I have little confidence in the future of this software, and I genuinely don’t understand its high ratings on AppSumo. If I could, I would delete my account and seek a refund, as this software has not delivered on its promises.

When I first bought this deal in 2022, it worked well, and I was very happy with it.

However, I rarely had issues with sites, and so when I didn't receive any alerts for a long time, I figured Screpy was doing its job, and my sites were fine.

Recently, I was made aware of outtages related to the platforms we use for most of our clients' websites. It dawned on me as strange that I did not receive any alerts from Screpy, so I logged into my account.

What I saw was quite shocking: every site I set up in Screpy is either stuck in "Analyzing" mode (one of these for more than 700 hours) or now displays the following error:

"There was a problem connecting to your site. So maybe some data may appear missing. The connection will be constantly checked and if it works, the remaining analysis data will be added.

Your site is returning the 400 error code. Please check this and try again.

In order for Screpy to access and analyze your site, it is essential that your site is available and your firewall does not block

Screpy bots. ​Unfortunately, this may be the cause for the challenges faced by Screpy when attempting to crawl your site. Thus, I suggest that you review your firewall settings first, and if necessary, add the Screpy IP addresses I have provided in the whitelist."

When I contacted support, they said:

"Unfortunately, these services have very strict rules and unless you are a very large company, they will not add you to their whitelist. I wish there was something we could do about this."

I'm sorry, but if your product can't get approval to work with very well known and common websites, why are you selling it and not telling people the truth???? This is fraud.

It seems like Screpy wants to wash their hands of the problem, and not take any responsibility. Meanwhile, I'm stuck with a product I can't even use and a developer that doesn't seem motivated to correct the issue.

What really irritates me is that this tool worked just fine in the past. So the developers likely made changes that affected how it works. I have other tools that are able to crawl my websites without issue.

I also wonder why is there no mention of this issue in the help documentation?

This product is flat out not working for me (at all) and for many many recent purchasers as well. I have a small collection of websites added. I had previously added them and waited (and waited and waited) for analysis. It was so buggy & slow I left for a couple of months, frustrated with no success. Yesterday I decided to try it again. Of course nothing was working again. 21 hours later I checked back in to see all my sites still saying 'Analyzing'. Not 1 single useable piece of information, even after almost a full day. Their 'support's response was 'there is no problem'. When I insisted there was I was given 250 credits to use (on their service that doesnt actually work for me)!!

On the 8th of July 2024, I sent an email about Screpy not scraping pages properly.

For example, example.com/gift analized on AHREFS would return a total of 50 elements like headings, images, videos and more, while Screpy returns less, meaning it miss certain elements.

I am disappointed to see that this product has not improved at all. It's working worse than before, both in terms of user interface and functionality. The reports and tools are even worse than free tools on the market. A simple website audit takes too long to complete, and the details are not detailed or accurate. For example, the large images report in the issues section doesn't even show the images and only provides the page URL. To find the exact issue, you need to go to the image report, but surprisingly it shows image size in "bytes", not KB or MB! Who can read that?! There's no option to sort, search, or filter. It shows there are 9 big images, but when I open the report, the table shows 24 images!! There's no preview, no sort, and no helpful report. These are the most basic features that this platform lacks, making it untrustworthy for me.

Screpy is no longer the same, since the last update all the historical metrics have been lost, the SERP simply doesn't work as it used to and doesn't give us historical keyword information, and to top it off they're now charging a dollar for every time you want to re-analyze the registered keywords. I am deeply disappointed with what Screpy has become, unfortunately I can no longer recommend this tool to anyone, the latest UI update has simply made the app worse and useless for me. I feel like I've wasted money.

I am extremely disappointed with the recent update. Prior to this, I found the tool to be excellent, and I rated it 5/5. However, after the update, I've lost all of my site settings, historical data, and key features within the rank tracker that I relied on. The tool has become unusable for my needs, which will significantly impact my business and my clients. It's concerning that a UI update would be implemented in a way that erases user data and settings. This raises serious questions about the decision-making behind the release. If it were possible, I would return my Lifetime codes immediately. I have never encountered such an issue before on Appsumo, and I'm surprised this update was allowed to proceed. Can you provide a solution or clarification on how this situation is being addressed?

The dashboard does not match the images in the product presentation. Now it looks worse. I could say it's not Screpy, it's Creepy. I was expecting this tool to show me the keywords that the added website ranks for, not me manually adding them to check if it`s ranking or not. The top keywords list doesn't help at all. It is a list of irrelevant words based on how often they are used (e.g. the, a, to, you, of). If I have a website with 20 pages, I get hundreds because all irrelevant pages (e.g. tags) are included and I don't have the possibility to filter them before scanning the website. The reports I cannot customize with the logo and colors I want. It requires me to be a plus member to have this option active, even I am already a plus member. Anyway the report is very basic. Overall it doesn't come with anything extra, more valuable.

Although I faced a few issues, but it takes day to solve by their team, but the tool is really great!

I've been using this tool for about a year, and now they've updated the UI. Unfortunately, many features that used to work are now broken, and several have been removed. For some time now.

Lighthouse is stuck in an endless "Analysing..." loop. Links are practically useless now, as it only picked up two links for my site. Keywords have become meaningless, as common words like "is," "of," "on," and "in" are now considered keywords.

When I contacted customer support, they offered me compensation of "10 extra projects for six months". But what am I supposed to do after six months? Buy those 10 projects back on subscription? It's ridiculous.

The tool has become terrible and practically useless.

Is true that the website was not working these days.
Only a message with their contact tool and <24 hours I had the anwser: "They were migrating the tool".
Always that I have needed anything, the support has been good and fast.
And the tool works fine. There are some things to improve, but maybe they have improved it with the change :)
Right now only have 1 code but I will take another one soon.

Everything worked fine for the first few months. After the tools such as the keyword tracker stopped working and now I cannot even login into screpy. No way to reset or to access anything. I wish I could get a refund. Very disappointed - they should remove it from appsumo
