In progress, but optimistic

Happy Birthday Alireza!

Selldone is an ambitious project! I have ambitions as well and have gotten my ADHD to lock-in to start building.

Note:
- Finish your KYC and Verifications FIRST before starting to build especiall with mcp!
- Mark has been mentioned in other reviews as well. Very, very friendly ...

PRO's:
- The marketplace feature (complex phew) is the biggest selling point for me and that is why I am banking on my Tier 5 investment.
- The (Appsumo) fee structure is double that of their offering on their website, but for that Sumolings get 12 stores!
- MCP connections with Claude, OpenAi, Gemini.
- No plugin circus with overlaps and incompatibilities.

CON's or areas for development:
- Ran into some KYC and Verification issues due to my own overeagerness, so if you have a test account with Selldone, make sure you do NOT USE the same email address to activate your Appsumo deal.
- The Wallet system for a LTD is still a little small mystery to me but internal Transfers are made easy/possible although these also carry the 1% (0.5%?)fee, which surprised me a little!?
- I also get the idea that the internal Wallet balance convert the 'real money' you charged the account with into virtual, tokenised money only. What I mean by this is that after you've 'charged' your wallet in order to verify your mobile number and validate your payment card ($25 and $5 transactions) you can earn a $25 bonus just by clicking on a banner .... ok, nice, but where does that money come from? When I pointed out that I paid a fee to do a Wallet transfer on a $50 transaction + 0.5% fee, I got a $30 bonus ... just like that? Where does all this 'money' come from?
- MCP onboarding - the downloadable skills and prompt copy - was not obvious i.e. you can connect your AI without knowing these skills exist. Spent a few unecessary tokens before I inadvertently bumped into the MCP webpage with the skills.md files etc.
- Support is almost too friendly. I understand customer satisfaction is important, but sending me a huge throbbing heart sticker .... LOL. And the 'mate', 'howzit' surfer dude tone can be toned down for my liking :-).
- I need quick accurate answers from Support (which seems to be out of :-( my timzone often) that show me an understanding of what I am asking and that support actually knows and understands more than I do ... which is not the impression I got all the time.

Final thoughts: Platform dependence is already an issue poking its ugly head out. Yes, all-in-one is great and 'no plugins', but that leaves us at the mercy of Selldone ... and they are VERY gracious. But i.e. with Logistics/Shipping services the lack of flexibility and options are close to dealbreaker for me especially if they do not open up endpoints for own development ... soon.

Still a four Taco review even though it seems I'm in total more negative?!
Yes, because Selldone, if done right (and it's still early days?), is a done deal for me. That's why im sold on it .... for now.

Thank you so much for such a detailed review — and for the birthday wishes! 🙏

You clearly spent serious time inside Selldone, tested Marketplace and MCP, ran into real friction, and still saw enough potential to bet on Tier 5. That means a lot to us.

A few important clarifications:

First, about the Wallet: we do NOT charge any fee for internal Wallet transfers, and you have never actually been charged one. What you saw was an internal display bug. Thanks to your report, we found and fixed it — so thank you! 🙏

Regarding the 1% vs 0.5% fee, AppSumo LTD tiers aren't lifetime copies of a specific monthly plan. They're special hybrid plans: feature-wise they're closer to our highest Enterprise offering, while the 1% transaction fee is closer to our Company plan. So comparing the LTD directly with one monthly plan isn't apples-to-apples, especially considering the number of stores included.

About using different emails: this is related to AppSumo's refund/activation rules, which is why the same account/email should be used during the refund period. After 60 days from the end of the refund period, stores can easily be transferred to another Selldone account.

Regarding KYC, I understand that some requirements can feel restrictive. We've been in this industry for around five years and have dealt with thousands of real-world cases. Especially in ecommerce, we've learned that certain checks are necessary to prevent serious problems.

We've encountered attempts to sell copyright-infringing material and even illegal child sexual abuse material. Cases like these forced us to introduce stricter policies, including restrictions on what can be sold through Selldone subdomains.

These measures aren't intended to make life difficult for legitimate merchants. They're there to protect merchants, customers and the ecosystem.

Your MCP onboarding criticism is also fair. You shouldn't have to accidentally discover skills.md files after spending unnecessary tokens.

We're now creating optimized Skills, guides and step-by-step checklists for Genesis/MCP to make it easier and significantly more token-efficient. We're adding them one by one to a dedicated Genesis section on the main Selldone website.

Regarding APIs, webhooks and logistics: Selldone is fully API-driven and provides extensive APIs and webhooks. From our side, the data and infrastructure are available. Connecting another platform, however, also requires that platform to provide the necessary API and access.

Shipping is a good example of what happens behind the scenes.

We tried integrating Pirate Ship, but they couldn't provide the API access required, so we had to cancel it. We explored Australia Post too, but their requirements meant we needed Australian identity/business information. We've investigated many other shipping providers and repeatedly encountered similar technical or access limitations.

Dropshipping has been an even longer journey. Over roughly four years, we've tested dozens of platforms. We didn't want integrations simply to put more logos on our website. Many weren't reliable or robust enough for us to confidently offer to Selldone merchants.

Last month, we finally integrated CJdropshipping because it reached the level where we felt comfortable providing it.

I mention these examples because they explain an important part of Selldone's philosophy: we're intentionally careful about what we connect to Selldone.

An integration becomes part of your business infrastructure. If it fails or creates problems for your orders and customers, you won't care whose API caused it — you chose Selldone, and we feel responsible for that experience.

We'd rather provide fewer integrations we can stand behind than hundreds simply to make a longer feature list.

And yes, your support feedback is received too 😄 We genuinely try to be close and friendly — sometimes apparently a little TOO friendly. But you're right: friendliness should always come with fast, accurate and technically solid answers.

Thank you for the 4 tacos 🌮🌮🌮🌮, for trusting us with Tier 5, and especially for helping us improve.

We'll work for that fifth taco.
