Q: Hi Sendfox, For my questions, let's assume I purchased 3 stacks which enabled me to have 25K subscribers.

Question 1: If I have an email list of 100K people, am I able to send out an initial email to 100K people with a message and a call to action to subscribe to my offer?

Question 2: If I get more than a 25% opt'in (which I know is extremely unlikely) will I have the option to have more subscribers for a fee?

Question 3: Are there any industries/niches that are not permitted to be promoted using Sendfox?

Thank you,

Ray

A: Hey, Sumo-ling!

Thanks so much for your question. Hope you're doing OK and your week is off to a great start.

The short answer is, if you have more than 25,000 subscribers and you want to keep all of them... I can work with you to find a monthly solution if you email me. We simply cannot support more than 25,000 subscribers in many situations — because the costs on our side add up WAY too quickly — so we had to make a blanket rule months ago to limit Sumo-ling tiers / codes to 25,000 subscribers.

If you don't want to pay monthly and want to buy the LTD, there are a few options:

1) Use SendFox and another ESP together for your "overflow"
2) Only bring your actives into SendFox — a best practice anyway — which means only importing subscribers who have opened, clicked, or joined your list in the last 3 to 6 months

Hope that helps!

Sorry if I wasn't clear... The client doesn't have any subscribers currently but they want to start building subscribers by sending emails to a database of almost 75K. Can I send that many emails out initially to build subscribers for my client.

Also, what about any industries that are not permitted under TOS of Sendfox?

Thank you,

Hey, Sumo-ling — the simple answer here is no.

I also encourage you to make sure you're following local laws and guidelines. Using any ESP (like SendFox, or Mailchimp, or ConvertKit‚ or anything along those lines) in the U.S. to email that 75k list in this situation is illegal. And it's illegal in Europe, as well as other countries. You need confirmed consent to email subscribers... and if your client were to do something like this with a database they would definitely be kicked off the email tool, and probably in some deep legal trouble.

Sounds harsh and direct, but want to make sure you avoid a possible huge mistake (and lawsuit). Don't take the risk! ☢️
