Cheap but limited
I love the value proposition because pricing of other tools is ridiculous past a certain number of subscribers. But unfortunately SendFox is not a viable alternative if you need anything else than just sending a plain email to a plain list. If your only goal is to replace MailChimp it might be a good fit. But especially the Automation Feature is very limited and feature wise where ConvertKit was in 2017. (That's 7 years ago). You have a single trigger (joined a list), can not use custom fields (they don't even exist within SendFox), can not use conditionals or conditionals based on custom fields, use more complex delays (e.G. wait till next Monday) or other common visual automation workflow features one has come to love from tools like HubSpot, ActiveCampaign or even ConvertKit.

Comparing SendFox to Mailchimp/ConvertKit is a bit of apples-to-oranges when SendFox has been $49 for LIFE — compared to the other tools you mentioned which are $200+ per month (!!!) for the features you mentioned. We're hyper-focused on simplicity and affordability, so we won't have all the features as the expensive other guys. We trade advanced features for price.
With that said, you're also still right that there's a lot with SendFox that is a bit old-school and needs to be improved. We're planning some big updates with SendFox this year, and can't wait to bring some of those updates to you. We'll announce to our email list when they're ready.
