First agency (2018): Facebook Ads for Local Businesses
This was... rough. Not a complete failure, but definitely not a success. I was working 24/7, barely had any clients, and was broke. It felt more like a job than a business—I was trapped in the day-to-day grind with no leverage. Learned a ton about what NOT to do.
Second pivot: StartupHelpr (Organic GTM for SaaS)
This is where things clicked. We helped SaaS companies (and some non-SaaS) with organic go-to-market strategies—SEO, content, community building. Success started picking up. We worked with multiple companies, and I got a true understanding of how online businesses operate differently from local ones. Scalability, systems, leverage—it all made sense.
Third pivot: Customer Success Agency for SaaS
This was the goldmine for learning. I became obsessed with keeping customers super happy—onboarding, retention, reducing churn. I learned everything about what makes customers stay vs. leave.
And this is where the pain hit: I was drowning in spreadsheets for client data, reports, tracking, analysis. That's when the idea for SheetXAI was born.
The pattern: Each agency taught me something critical. Facebook ads = hustle isn't enough. StartupHelpr = systems beat manual work. Customer success = retention is everything.
SheetXAI is the culmination of all those lessons: build a tool that eliminates manual work, scales infinitely, and makes customers' lives dramatically better.

What’s the origin of the idea for your product?
I was running a customer success agency for SaaS companies and was personally drowning in spreadsheets. Client data, SEO traffic reports, performance tracking—everything lived in sheets.One night at 2 AM, I was staring at 100,000 rows of client SEO traffic data. My brain was melting. I kept thinking: "There HAS to be an AI that can just... DO this for me."I searched everywhere. Found tons of "AI formula generators" but nothing that could actually clean data, manipulate sheets, handle multi-step workflows, or connect to external tools. Just formulas.That gap was obvious: I didn't need help writing VLOOKUP for the hundredth time. I needed an AI agent that could execute entire workflows autonomously. So I taught myself to code specifically to build this. Built the MVP in one day and launched in February 2025.

What are your plans with the customers, cash, and learnings from the AppSumo campaign?
Everything we gain from this campaign goes straight into improving the product.
We'll use the feedback to figure out what's actually crucial for users—which workflows need automation most, which integrations matter, where the platform needs work. Then we'll put the cash toward testing those hypotheses, scaling infrastructure, and giving my team runway to ship features faster instead of worrying about fundraising.
What's next on the horizon:
If we achieve what we're looking for (diverse use cases, stress testing, and real feedback), we'll be positioned to build toward predictive automation—where SheetXAI learns your patterns and automates workflows before you even ask.
