I've sent a email to Appsumo and they contacted the developer on my behalf but still no response. Waste of time.
Q: Do I have to install the software to activate the liscense?
I already have a previous install setup on my pc and don't want to have to mess with it. Running out of time to get an answer as I have to activate or refund within a day or so. You haven't responded to emails. Also, I think you said we can't but i wish i could just combine with my existing liscense and just have them all on one account then waste a second seat on myself.

He is active on Twitter and answered my question there. There is an annoying bug when you have two tabs with developer tools open, and switching between them always refreshes the dev tools. He mentioned that he hopes to fix it soon, but that was a few months ago. To be honest, I would request a refund if the 60 days were not over. I'm using Firefox again now.
