Q: Flowlance vs Skillplate: Platform Features & Anti-Piracy Solutions
Hi!
As the founder of Flowlance, I’m curious about your vision regarding platform protection and value for creators.
First, what are the main differences and advantages of Flowlance versus Skillplate from your perspective?
Second, a challenge for many creators is unauthorized content distribution: for example, users downloading video courses with download managers or extensions, and then sharing those files on public forums. The same goes for e-books and other digital products.
Some communities even join forces to buy a course or tool, then distribute it broadly—causing significant loss for creators.
How does Flowlance address these risks of content leaks and group sharing? Are there protective features or strategies built-in to help creators secure their products and revenue?
Thanks in advance for your insights!

Oct 15, 2025A: I just have to mention I am not an expert on Flowlance.
Regarding piracy protection I have this to say.
I made over $1,000,000 selling courses before I got the honor of being pirated.
You have to be popular, and successful for people to pirate you. So even before we start this is really a tiiiiiny problem. People worry much more about it that it is a big deal.
You can shut it down easily with 1 DCMA submission in 2 minutes.
If someone is so bold to sell it you can shut it down with 1 cease and desist letter. (Which is what happened in my case). 2 hours later it was down and never ever got pirated again.
Honestly when my course got pirated for the first time i was even happy .... "Finally i was worthy of the pirates' attention". It means you did something right.
There is nothing you can do to really stop it. I can literally steal it in 100 ways. Capture cards, wire tapping, screen recording, account sharing, plugins etc.
As any hacker or pirate would tell you all you need to do is make it hard enough as it is never impossible.
What we do at Skillplate is to just make it hard enough for non professional hackers to pirate it. And you can easily DCMA and sue the real hackers.
Group sharing and account sharing is actually easy to solve. All you need is to conduct a few simple checks and add them as options. (for example do not allow 1 user to use the app from 2 distant locations at the same time)
When it comes to comparing Flowlance to Skillplate
Flowlance is a storefront solution similar to Stan store. The biggest problem with this type of solution is that you cannot scale on it because it is not a full solution to the problem. his is also Stan's problem. They solve it by acquiring a lot of small creators but they lose all their big creators. If you are successful eventually you have to transition to a more professional tool. That is something I avoid like the plague in business.
Flowlance is cheaper but it lacks features you need to be successful.
It is better suited for smaller creators who don't need a lot of features and just need something quick and easy. It is fast and easy to learn but has a very low ceiling.
If you just want a storefront it is great. And a good solution for a link in bio.
Skillplate on the other hand is more complicated, it has a lot more parts and a steeper learning curve similar to Shopify. It is more like an operating system for a digital business, with many apps and features included inside.
Skillplate is a complete solution for people who want to sell digital products and services and aim to grow and build a serious business.
That said if you need a simple solution that is also available on Skillplate. You can create a beautifully branded link-in-bio type storefront in seconds using our website builder. Or if you just need to make a simple course or community landing page we even create it automagically for you. So the simple is there but you have no ceiling.
Our ambition is to be at the heart of the business and for you to not even need to integrate anything else. At the same time we want to make every integration easy and possible because we are marketers and we truly understand the importance of interconnectivity.
We built Skillplate to empower entrepreneurs to start and scale their businesses. And we don't do it for money or to make investors rich. We do it because this is what we have always done and what we will always do.
How about Skillplate vs ezycourse ?
Just replied it above.
like Kajabi Ezycourse (despite it's name) is expensive and a lot of work.
On Skillplate you can set up a landing page and run a presale campaign in 10 minutes.
And it is extremely likely to look better and far more professional than what you end up creating in Ezycourse unless you are a professional designer.
Also just the whole interface on Skillplate looks more pro.
Just replied on that above.
