Wanted to start a community (à la Skool) and maybe start selling courses afterwards. My #1 reason for getting this deal was unlimited communities.

I got the Tier5 deal with the no commission add-on and the white label (not refundable) option.

Now, the interface is really good and I'm sure the platform is fine, but just when starting to explore the platform, I created one test community, it brought be to a button that forwards me to Discord. I thought I missed something... but I didn't, it seems. Communities, as of now, are only on Discord.

When coming back here to look at reviews/questions, I noticed that people talked about this before, the founder explained the reasons they went that way at first and that they are also developing internal communities. It's on the roadmap. Still, I we have no idea when that will be live and it could years in the future, who knows. At that time, I would be out of my refund window.

This little fact was a deal breaker for me and I refunded, but I had the "white label" for 299$ that is not refundable so that is a frustrating loss for me that I regret taking. I feel that it was not that clear in the app description that communities were only on Discord at the moment. I'm not sure why I would pay that much when I could just start a Discord server by myself. I don't understand who would want to have a community type platform and host the community on another one requiring another login. It's a head scratcher to me.

Still, I believe the platform seems awesome in many other ways and I'm sure course makers will get very good value out of it. The founder seems great. I still feel like the Discord communities part should be made a lot clearer. That confusion just cost me 299$.

I had been using a German course platform for the past eight years. Over time, more features were added—but the price went up significantly.

I purchased a Skillplate account on tier-5 and I trust Dimitar and his team to make it at least to one of the most wanted and successfull platforms on this planet. The foundation is led! Not every function is fully developed yet. But important functions like a members area or a mobile app, is already fixed on the roadmap. That means: The best is yet to come.
I live in Switzerland and I already know some interested people who are looking for a platform like skillplate for their businesses in Switzerland as well as in Germany.
