Q: Skillplate vs OnlineCourseHost.com
I’d like to understand better how Skillplate compares to another platform I’m looking at: OnlineCourseHost.com (OCH). In particular:
What are the key differences between Skillplate and OCH (features, limitations, pricing/licensing, video storage/hosting, branding, white-label, membership/community support, etc.)?
For memberships/communities: how do you support multi-level access (free tier, paid tier, bundles, subscriptions, drip content) and how does that compare to OCH’s community & course layering?
For course providers like me (I build certification courses, live sessions, membership, downloadable materials) which platform would you recommend and why — especially given that I also want full branding / white-label / custom domain and minimal platform-fees / commission?

Edited Nov 2, 2025A: Just make an account and try both. You will quickly understand why and how Skillplate is better. OCH has more features on paper but the quality of those features is a completely different story. Also they have been on the market for quite a while.
Just try both. You will see the vast difference in a few minutes. They do not worry me as a competitor at all.
UPDATE: Just saw they require external hosting. That is the biggest marketing suicide ever. I would never give up the tracking and marketing features for that. Almost every established and stable business makes more money from their existing customers than they do from new customers. Retention is literally the most important thing in business. External hosting means you lose tracking features that your entire retention marketing strategy is built on. Hard no no.
They would have to pay me somewhere between 20-30% of my revenue to use them.
Also when choosing a platform for your future business a few things are crucial.
No1 is Future Proofing. Changing the platform is a total nightmare.
In terms of features Skillplate already has 95% of the features you need. I would say we add features much faster than OCH, and our roadmap is much more marketing focused and much more ambitious with features focused on business growth, like marketing AI, AI agentic workflows and automations.
Like Kajabi many features are not well thought through in my professional opinion as a marketer. It's there on paper but not really as it should be.
Now to your questions.
In terms of features and limitations we do not and will never limit features for price.
if you 100% need white label we do not offer this feature on lifetime plans.
One big difference is how we handle communities at the moment we use discord and they use internal. For me and 99% of our users discord doesn't just work better it works many times better. 1000%+. (and we will add internal communities).
Other than that we support all the features you need like tiers, bundles drip and so on.
I cannot recommend OCH. I would never build my business on this platform. I don't see them becoming market leaders ever. To me it feels like a cheaper Kajabi with less features and nothing that stands out. (again this is my opinion and might be wrong)
You can have white label on both Kajabi and Skillplate at $250/month so if your business is big enough for that to matter then you have this option.
You can do everything you need on Skillplate. In fact with a lifetime plan + the 0% commission addon you will get the best deal that has ever come to this space so far.
And a few days after black friday this deal will be over and we will never offer lifetime plans again.
You can fully brand your website, members area and even the checkout using Skillplate. And it will look much better than OCH. The only thing you cannot remove are the "powered by skillplate" referral links which pay 30% lifetime commission. Also a fun fact is that everyone who got to the enterprise plan already gets so much commissions that they don't want to remove the links.
So if you value speed and quality of features + a marketing first approach and want a future proof platform go with Skillplate.
If you absolutely want white label and need features we don't have ASAP and cannot wait I would say you can get that at around $200/month with Kajabi or Thinkific.
I don't see a case where OCH is the best solution. I may be biased but I am rarely wrong about these things having had this platform choosing dilemma with 241 ecommerce businesses and having seen businesses fail because they can't transition from a dying platform like Opencart or Prestashop(in the ecommerce space).
I will tell you 1 thing. If I had a magic lamp with a genie, a plantir and a crystal ball giving me insight into the future and being able to grant any wish I want.
I would always choose the platform that helps me sell more. Everything else is MEGA secondary. The only other platform on the planet that thinks marketing first like we do is Go High Level. And you can see they have all the marketing features you can think of. Clunky, and not the best looking and with a lot of legacy code but the features are there and working. In a year we will have all of those features working properly on a future proofed platform built entirely for the AI era.
So that's my few cents on the matter. I hope it helps you find the best solution for your business.
