Another downgrade brought to you by this time by Skimming AI.
Ok, they have now replied to our reviews.
Let this be a lesson to other developers to always keep people in the loop, even if you hit a rough patch or working behind the scenes and break something.
They have updated the plan. So my rating is now 3 stars:
"@everyone
Our recent plan change reduced credits for many of you, removed model selection, and locked API access. That was the wrong call, and we heard your frustration clearly You deserved better.
So we've fixed it, and gone further:
✅ Full credits restored on every tier, at the highest level you've ever had
✅ API access for all plans, everyone now gets an API key
✅ Equal API credits across every tier, no exceptions
These changes are live now. Log in and your credits and API key will be waiting."
My Original Review at 1 star
I have another story to share to raise awareness about these AI tools. I hadn't used it for a while because its performance had declined, and upon checking now, I found that everything has changed without any announcements. I initially had 10,000 credits on tier 1, but now I only have 1,500.
Many new tools have been added, but they are now behind paywalls, requiring an upgrade to access them. I can no longer choose from different AI models as I could before.
Additionally, I previously had API access, which allowed me to use the tool, although it didn’t function very well. Now, that access is also locked behind a paywall. This situation is very disappointing for those who have invested in these services. Fortunately, I didn’t opt for the higher tiers; otherwise, I would feel even more disheartened right now.
I suggest that anyone considering an investment in a company focused on AI carefully evaluate what they can offer you. Skimming AI is another example of this issue. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

Jul 3, 2026Thank you for updating your review — and more importantly, thank you for speaking up in the first place. We specifically heard you, and feedback like yours is exactly what pushed us to correct this mistake quickly. You were right to call it out.
As you've seen, the fixes are now live:
• Full credits restored on every tier — at the highest level you've ever had
• API access unlocked for all plans, with an API key for everyone
• Equal API credits across every tier, no exceptions
On the bigger picture: the redesign itself was never meant to take anything away from you. It's part of our long-term vision to make Skimming the best product in this space. All the core use cases you bought it for — chat with documents, YouTube, audio, and video — are staying and getting better, and we've added new things on top like the Team feature.
We clearly should have communicated all of this before the change, not after. That's the real lesson here, and we're acting on it: later today we're sharing our full long-term vision in our Discord. We'd genuinely value your feedback on it — you've already helped shape one important correction, and we'd love your input on where we go next.
Thank you again for holding us accountable, and for giving us another look.
