Q: Security concerns: Clipboard history, password managers, and data privacy

Hi team! I really like the text expansion features, but I have a major security concern regarding the Clipboard History.

I noticed it captures passwords copied from my password manager (Strongbox), seemingly ignoring macOS ConcealedType flags.

Is there a way to blacklist specific apps (like password managers) or completely disable the clipboard history feature?

Since there is a sync feature, are my clipboard history and snippets stored on your servers?

Where can I find your detailed privacy policy regarding what data is logged/retained on your backend?

A: Really appreciate you raising this. Security is something we take seriously, so let us be clear.

Clipboard history is stored locally on your device only. It does not sync to our servers. Nothing you copy leaves your machine through Slashit App.

Snippets do sync to our servers so you can access them across devices. But that data is fully protected. We don't read it, sell it, or share it.

On the password manager concern, you're right to flag it. Blacklisting specific apps like Strongbox from clipboard history is something we've now added to our roadmap. We'll get that shipped.

Your data is safe with us. If you'd like to see our privacy policy, here is the link: https://www.slashit.app/privacy-policy

And if you have more questions, just ask. We'd rather answer everything now than leave you with doubts. We have created a discord channel, feel free to join: https://discord.gg/XrrrWh4DXc
