Q: Hi, HUGE ISSUGE with the monthly credit limit.
either someone is using it a lot or not. Each person will be narrowing their data in different ways. I don't get the credit. I was already to purchase then I saw that. So I am thinking it's actually restrictive because all of the features will use a credit. Sometimes you have to look at 4 or 5 articles more deeply and boom, you have used up like 20 credits by then.
Please consider at least for an AppSumo deal to not have that restriction. For the basic that doesn't even seem like enough to properly evaluate the product. There are no other social media analyzers out there that restrict viewing any type of result so that will be an HUGE issue for this product. ContentStudio doesn't and neither does BuzzSumo.
Another Alert to me is that this deal doesn't even seem to be the lowest level of you have on the site. There also NO MENTION of the credits there. Why are we getting the lower end?
Not trying to be hard on you but is know Sumolings are great about spreading the word and you want people to buy later so far this wil be you eval unless it changes or I am COMPLETELY wrong but would love to hear more about the reasoning. THANKS!!

Hi Sumo-ling,
I'm sorry you are confused about the credits system. You can make unlimited searches (articles, influencers and Facebook posts) for even one AppSumo code.
This is how you will use monthly credits:
Analyze one article headline = 1 credit
Find content insights for a keyword = 1 credit
Find content insights for a domain = 1 credit
Analyze Facebook posts for a keyword = 1 credit
Analyze Facebook posts for a Facebook page = 1 credit
View sharers of one article = 1 credit
View all the links shared by an influencer for a keyword = 1 credit
View all links of articles written/shared by a top author = 1 credit
Hope you have better clarity now.
Please note: Our regular Blogger plan ($49/month) doesn't allow Facebook Searches at all. We have opened it up all Sumo-lings even to those who buy only a single code. Trust me, it's a killer deal. :)
Cheers,
Naren
I am still confused as the WHY those are credits. You can do that without limits on other platforms. Analyzing an article headline or insights for a domain etc. a lot of that you can get in the other tools. Not sure WHY there is a credit attached. Why not just roll it in like you do you your regular accounts? Even if you have to use different free tools it would be better than worrying about credits each time you just want to do a basic search and dig further.
I know you think this is a great deal as the creator but maybe you should see with the other Sumolings think first who will be the users of the tool. I know how much we use our tools and it's just 2 of us doing it for us, so I can't image how this will fly with someone who does this for others or their own company.

So if you search for one keyword could it cost you several credits? I don't understand the credit system. Are all of the things mentioned separate searches with a credit cost or do you search once and all those things show up on your screen and cost you 10 credits? Thanks!
Hi Sumo-ling!
1 keyword analysis = 1 credit
You will use up credits only per keyword and the number of articles/FB posts analyzed doesn't matter.
You will always be using up 1 credit at a time. There is no scenario in which you will use up multiple credits in one go.
Hope this helps.

Hi Sumo-ling,
Let me explain.
— We don’t have a credit system for our regular plans. We proposed a credit system so that we could have limitations on the “expensive” user actions that has a cost attached to it. We had to do this because it's a LTD. Please note that we are only limiting the usage but not locking any feature completely for Sumo-lings.
— For one AppSumo code itself we have opened up unlimited Facebook searches which is unavailable even for a regular $49/month customer. Sumo-lings get a lot of value even for one code.
It’s tricky to do a LTD for a data product (when compared to a utility product) as there is a recurring cost associated to it. We had to strike a balance — a great deal for the Sumo-lings that makes business sense for us.
There is a reason for data products being expensive and rarely doing LTDs. Example: Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, Buzzsumo
Hope this helps. 🙂

I totally get it then I would at least increase the limits since a regular subscription doesn't have limits. Just seems SUPER SUPER low.
Hi there Naren. Can you put together a quick tutorial of how your code system works. It's a bit confusing.
Thanks so much.

Actually say you look up 1 keyword then within that keyword search you have to do the following below per your words above then those credits are gone in no time. Contentstudio does all of that except analyze the headlines and the AppSumo deal did was unlimited. I use it daily alone for my account so I know this credit system will kill a lot of people's usage. I understand you increased it bit did you add a way for people to track how many they are using on the page? Not sure why you said you said someone might not use them all
