TL:DR
Bought plan 5. They stopped twitter support but working on alternative. Waited year. Asked if alternative for Appsumo buyers even if we paid cost. They said no. Only way is $269 mo for 400 less accounts. Buyer beware.

So, I invested in this deal in May of 2021. I invested in Plan 5, which for me, is no small amount of money.

It works well, but doesn't have a lot of the bells and whistles of other platforms offering social media automation and I hoped over time it would become a winner. That hope was dashed today (June 27, 2024).

The backstory.

In March of 2023 Twitter started warning of a new API and that developers would have to pay to use the new API. Then, on April 19, 2023 they sent me this email:

Twitter recently announced new API access tiers while discontinuing their free API access for all third-party apps.

Now, we hate to be the bearer of bad news, but all small businesses are deeply affected by this change, and sadly, us too. Many apps have decided to drop Twitter as an integration. However, we assure you that we will continue to provide support for as long as we can! ✨

Unfortunately, due to the new updates, we are no longer able to support Twitter for LTD users, effective 25th April 2023. If you wish to continue using Twitter with our platform, you can subscribe to one of our paid plans!

Then on April 27, 2023 they sent this one:

Some changes are harder done than said and the upgrade to Twitter’s paid API tiers with extensive limitations was one of them. We know that the newly changed API and its impact on your social media management is not the easiest pill to digest!

With this email, we want to keep you in the loop as we at Social Champ are doing our best to find a way around it. Our technical team is working through the possibilities to enable Twitter for you, again. 🙌

We'll be back soon with an option to use Twitter. Wait for our next email.

Wow. Had no idea about this. Looks like twitter has started a "storm" on this. Please continue the pressure on twitter to at least allow posting at the free tier.

All we need is the posting. No one cares about reading. If they do they can go to the page.

Please stay on top of this and if it changes let me know. Elon can be swayed by opinions.

So, I waited over a year to see how it would pan out. Then, I sent this in their chatbot:

I have the AppSumo Plan. I bought the maximum plan and when twitter became 'X' they changed API connection and you sent an email saying you were going to set up special pricing so we could continue using X but I never heard anything else about it. I don't want to "upgrade" to Business and actually get a downgrade from what I bought and invested at Appsumo (AppSumo Plan 5) but I understand you can't allow me to connect to X API for free. Do you have a special price for us AppSumo buyers?

They wanted me to downgrade to only 100 social accounts etc. for $269 a month. I sent another reply:

Could you escalate this ticket, please?

The point is the founder, Sameer Ahmed Khan, made promises in 2021. I invested in Social Champ when it needed users and money. I paid for the highest tier.

I understand that Twitter (x) is now charging. I am willing to cover that cost, but not at the expense of my investment.

I only have a few accounts because the platform lacks features, but I invested in the LTD (Lifetime Deal) hoping that would improve, and I could put customer accounts on your platform.

You keep wanting to downgrade my account. No. But I will pay for access to Twitter.

This needs to be escalated to Sameer so he can help those who invested in his platform (AppSumo users) stay happy and willing to invest again if he decides to use AppSumo for any other ventures.

This is doable, and other platforms are allowing Twitter (x) access for much less and do much more than Social Champ. From the service I am receiving, I would say your platform has plateaued with no new exponential growth in the future. You just never gained the traction necessary to break through and now are in the death throes typical of a struggling company.

Prove me wrong. I really don't want to be correct in that accessment.

I have discussed the query with our co-founders as well and currently we don't have any such option to access the Twitter account on the Lifetime plans.

So there it is. Buy from these founders and you may run the risk of this happening to you.

Out of every app I have bought on Appsumo, this is my favourite. It's the one I use the most and the one I have had least problems with.
In fact, I've had NO problems with SocialChamp. It quite simply does what it says it will without any fuss or issues.

Very happy with Social champ, so far my only regret was I did not choose a higher tier deal, fingers crossed it comes around again as it has saved me hours of time and effort, and paid for itself already.

While I do love the flexibility of being able to schedule posts on multiple platforms, I don't like some of the limitation: No multiple images, no stories, no auto cropping for IG - post fails and cropping limited to set orientations, no tagging on IG post.
Although this app has made my workflow easier, I still have to go directly to each platform in order to utilize some of the features they have, which, kinda, sorta, defeats the purpose of scheduling content if you have to still go to the platform to perform certain functions for a post.
I hope that this app continues to grow and add more features for the content creator.
Overall, I am pleased with this app! I would certainly recommend it over some other scheduling apps. It shows promise and the lifetime deal is better than a monthly subscription with similar limitations.

I can tell you one thing for sure, I've been in business for over 20 years, I've spent the last 18 years building an online business. I have tried many other software's that guarantee social posting and within the first moments of using it I have had some of my post rejected or failed to go through. This platform is definitely a solid one!

SocialChamp is definitely something that I would recommend for anyone who is running any type of online business. This thing is great for posting to all of your platforms at one time without having to use multiple logins.
