Q: Hi!
Is Instagram an auto-post (we just schedule it and that's it) or do we schedule it and then get a reminder on our phone to publish it on Instagram? Thanks!

May 14, 2024A: Hi there,
Instagram is a bit trickier for newer tools (as us or others on AppSumo) as they stopped offering API access some time ago. This is why all of these tools have it via a mobile reminders app.
We can, however, also post via the Buffer integration: https://help.socialbee.io/article/119-posting-on-instagram-through-the-buffer-integration
A free Buffer account also works (though paid Buffer accounts also have other benefits), plus once it's set up, you're good to go.
Or via our Mobile reminders app: https://help.socialbee.io/article/53-using-the-socialbee-mobile-app-beta
I hope this answers your question, but if not, please let me know.

Schedule then post on phone. I just started using that feature this week, it's as seamless as it can be, aside from Instagram releasing the permissions to auto post!
Yup, definitely; I know how those APIs are with FB and Instagram, so no problem. I have Buffer and have already gone down to a free account from their paid plan; I didn't realize the free plan also allowed you to post directly to Instagram — thought that was only on the paid account.
Do you think you'll try to continue working on getting API setup with Instagram so this can be a direct post after scheduling? I ask only because it's definitely fine if you're always connected :) but I live in the backcountry of Canada and as soon as I leave my house, I don't have data or wifi (I have an outdoor-adventure based business, so no connection in the mountains! :)
Thanks! (P.S. Already a SocialBee customer; just looking to see if I should upgrade ;)
Outdoor Canada sounds really good right now, especially with all the lock-downs :)
Yes, we will keep trying to get direct Instagram API access, but it's not something I can promise right now.
Thanks for being a part of our hive!
