Q: DM automations and Posting limits + BYOK

Hi, Can you confirm is there DM automation available or will be added inside the system or via MCP/API?
also i want to understand for Tier 3 and 4, what does automation mean, if i connect with MCP or even inside the system, and create multiple workflows, and automations, how it'll count, and if it's same for MCP and inside system?
It means for tier 3 for each account i can have 2 type of automation only?

And , for AI functionality, can we add BYOK, or it's just managing via MCP?

A: Hi Alex,

Yes, SocialBu supports automation for messages where the connected network and account type allow it. You can create automations inside SocialBu with triggers such as incoming messages, comments, reviews, RSS items, webhook triggers, and post events, then run actions like sending replies, creating posts, adding posts to queues, sending email, or calling a webhook.

For MCP/API: MCP access is available on Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4. But Creating or editing full automation workflows is handled inside the SocialBu automation builder. If creation through MCP/API is added later, it would still use the same plan limits as in-app automations.

For AppSumo Tier 2 ,Tier 3 and Tier 4, “automation” means automation rules/workflows, not “automation types per account.” . Multiple workflows count as multiple automation rules, and every time an automation runs, it counts toward the monthly execution limit. The same limits apply whether the automation is managed through SocialBu directly or through MCP-supported controls.

For AI, SocialBu uses plan-based AI credits. Tier 3 includes 2,400 AI credits and Tier 4 includes 5,800 AI credits. At the moment, BYOK is not available as a direct setting for SocialBu AI features. MCP can connect SocialBu with external tools/workflows, but it does not replace the built-in AI-credit system for SocialBu’s native AI features.
