EDIT: So many updates, I had to upgrade my rating
Edit: After using this tool for a year, I cannot go back to anything else. It has so much more than mainstream alternatives. SO much more, in fact, that I'm trying to convert a bunch of the people I work with.
- Drag & drop queue management? No but I don't miss it.
- Categories. CAT-E-GORIES. I can make a separate queue per category, and then decide what time I want each category posting to each platform. This is, hands down, the feature I use the most and the absolute requirement for me. Why? Because I can decide how often I want to be making "salesy" posts and at what times; how often I want to be posting videos vs static posts, in separate queues, so that I can upload alllll my videos into a queue at once with all the settings that set wants, and then allll my static posts in a batch. And because they're color-coded, I can do things like "I want sales posts about Product at These times, and sales posts about Service at Those times" while visually checking that I'm not overbalancing my other content with the total volume of sales posts.
- Random CTAs & hashtags from a pool, PER CHANNEL. I can customize the CTA pool for shorter ones at the places that have character limits, and longer ones at the places where people want a little more meat to the posts. But I can also have MULTIPLE POOLS! So, CTAs to share, follow, book online, etc. that I can pick the pool and it will select from one of my options.
- BULK IMPORT. Are there things I would improve? yes. They're trivial but here: I would love the ability to upload an image once and attach text captions in a pool like the CTAs, but also the ability to schedule when (at least the order in which) each of those text captions runs. And the same for images (I'd love to just toss a pool of images and captions in and let it randomize for me, then check for any really tasteless combinations). I would love to be able to upload the images and grab the URL from within the asset manager instead of hosting the images on a public page to be pulled by the bulk import, specifically because of quality degradation. That said the bulk imports recently got a huge upgrade, and I'm loving that it integrates with the Presets feature.
- PRESETS! Y’all! Because of the way bulk imports works, I typically will set up a whole ad campaign in batches. Before, this meant I would reset the "defaults" all the time depending on what I was working on. The brand new presets feature lets me set those style defaults once, and select them according to my purpose. This has been a game changer!
- Reports: When I started my business I just got a social media account everywhere, and Sociamonials lets me use them ALL. Which is awesome, because I had no idea that one underdog social media site was going to be my main staple for effective advertising.
- Campaigns: Honestly, I don't even use this feature but I'm looking forward to exploring it. Maybe I just need so help or I was using it wrong when I tried it. But it's nice to know it's there when I'm ready to grow into it.
Original: The most frustrating part is the asset library. I want to be able to access it separately from the post creation screen, and organize the images in my own folders. Everything else isn't necessarily how I would organize it, but the features exist that I want to use and they seem to be posting successfully. It's easy enough to switch between sets of social accounts so I can post for each business from the same page. Organizing the queue is a little... I mean drag-and-drop would be amazing but at least I CAN rearrange the queue! Does it have all the features of Buffer? No. But it does what I need it to do, at a price I like. And I'm actually excited to grow into some of the features I'm not using yet!
