Two new effects landed in the editor this week: Colour tint and VHS scanlines, both previewable live.
VHS scanlines is particularly good for the lo-fi aesthetic that's everywhere in short-form right now, and who doesn't love a little bit of colour in their lives? Give them a try and let me know what you think.
Behind the scenes, I've been working on something I want to share because it directly affects what I ship for you.
Running a small but growing product means there's always more to build than time to build it. The hard part isn't ideas - it's deciding which ideas are actually worth my week. Until recently I was making those calls based on whatever felt loudest in my inbox, which is a terrible way to prioritise.
So I built a weekly system that ingests product data, user activity, search trends, and feedback signals, and tells me the three things most worth my attention each week. Not what to build - that's still my call, but where to look first. It runs every Monday morning and posts a report I can read with my coffee.
What this means for you: the roadmap is now driven by what the data says users actually need, not by what's most fun to build. If you've left feedback in the comments here, replied to my emails, or posted about SMS somewhere I can find, that signal feeds into what gets prioritised.
The effects this week shipped because the priority items were handled and I had room for something visual and fun. That's the right order of operations.
If there's something you've been stuck on, or a feature you've been waiting for - ask in the questions or email me at [email protected]. I read everything, and now I have a better way to make sure it actually translates into shipped work.
Cheers,
Rane
