Q: Hi!
You stated in one of your comments that with your application, it is extremely, extremely likely to produce the same song or beat.
1. If that is the case, why are we prohibited from owning or making money off of our outputs? Like selling the generated outputs as-is.
2. As a musician, can I use the beats without making any changes?
3. Can I use the outputs on my YouTube channel for background music or meditation?
4. Where can I use the outputs and where cannot I?
5. Are there any additional use-case restrictions I should be aware of?
Many thanks!

May 14, 2024A: Hi LTD, thanks for your detailed questions and comments!
Regarding 1 & 2 - We are looking at how we can extend copyrights to give further flexibility as a future feature (https://soundpiece.canny.io/soundpiece-features). At the moment, however, if you don’t change the songs at all, then Soundpiece owns the copyrights but you won't be required to pay soundpiece any royalties to use the generated songs once downloaded. If you, however, download the midi files and change the song (in a regular DAW) or incorporate any of our audio loops into a larger original music composition, then you will own the rights of the new song.
3 - Yes, you can use the songs on your YouTube channel for background music.
4 & 5 - The use-cases are mentioned in the FAQ post above but you can also find additional details here: https://www.soundpiece.co/eula

You meant "unlikely", right?

Thanks Sumo_Wrestler. Yes I think he meant very unlikely.
So we are able to resell our music pieces so long as we have altered the original piece?

Hi SocialImpact. Yes that is correct. As long as the song is changed and sounds different from the one created by soundpiece.
