YES!!!

A lot of comments on some better options.

These are somewhat true but Soundpiece does exactly what it says it will and is good for really base or simple projects of several kinds.

I give it 4 Tacos because there is lots of room for improvement, but that's what we, as early adopters, are paying into. I look forward to the developments.

Investing into Potential

With other similar services such as Aiva and Mubert being around since 2016, Soundpiece is definitely the new kid on the block. This is reflected in its music generation quality and features.

Given you don't expect industry-leading standards right from its inception, there is plenty to love about Soundpiece and things that make it unique.

The most notable is how it automatically creates song titles for you, which you can later change. This seemingly small feature helps a lot when it comes to remembering what a song is. As a bonus, its created name is often entertaining. Shoutout to a Rock tune called "Speedy Gopher of Witchcraft"

It has a dead-simple interface that allows anyone to begin creating tunes quickly. You have three options to select from. The first is called Type which dedicates what you're trying to create whether it be some beats or an entire song. The second is Style, which is basically your Genre. Finally, there is Setting. It is essentially a mood you're going for such as sad or energetic.

Or simply click generate without messing with any of that and see what comes out. There are no limits to the amount you can generate and Soundpiece also offers unlimited cloud storage of your songs. It is a fun way to pass some time and a glimpse into what it's capable of, as to later try to replicate in your custom songs.

Also worth a mention is the speed at which it generates a song. There is little in the way of waiting when it comes to using this program. In combination with it automatically naming your songs, Soundpiece is one of the most seamless AI music generators out there.

After you create a song, you can then customize its length (up to 5 min) and BPM. A handy feature for when it creates something you love and have it play for longer without a need to duplicate then splice pieces in another program.

You'll find that there is a tendency for unappealing amounts of repetition in its generation. It is likely you'll be creating and deleting a fair bit of duds before Soundpiece creates a good or even fire track. While a mixed bag, it can create tracks you wouldn't believe weren't made by a human, and a rather talented one at that.

If I had one suggestion to make to the Soundpiece team, it'd be to separate the song length from the Setting tab and allow us to choose a specific duration. Trading out the ability to choose a mood just for the vague option of 30+ second length isn't worth it.

I'd say the lifetime deal is a steal. For $69 you'll be receiving an unlimited amount of unique music to do with as you please, whether it be a Youtube video, Podcast, or a commercial project. You have a sizable 50 downloads per day limit, but with the unlimited song generation in play, they will all be of vetted quality as decided by you. If you somehow manage to download that much in a day, the cloud storage ensures they will be available for you in the next.

Requesting Refund

This SAAS developer decided to not let people at least try out 1-2 demo songs and rather locked it with a paywall to try out the software. I created a Happy "EDM" song and the result was anything BUT edm. same for lofi.

If I was able to try the software before paying this review and a refund request could have been avoided.

Okay but misleading

Login /Signup Link:

The link is shared so when you select login/signup, it really takes you to a “signup” page. This gets annoying where you have to then select “Log in” again in a smaller font light colored purple font versus the huge SIGN UP on the same page.

After login:

You are taken to the homepage where once again you see “find out more” and “sign up”. You need to select the “create” link at the top left which is somewhat obscure. Or you can scroll down and select “create”, “inspire” which requires a monthly fee, or “develop” if you want to API access.

Appsumo screenshots:

These don’t match the actual settings you get after signing up. If you want those screenshots you have to subscribe to their monthly service called “Inspire”.

Appsumo deal:

What you actually get are three options: type, style and setting. BPM and length are NOT separate submenus. They offer BPM in an obscure way by allowing you to change it “per song”, but not as an option to filter out. Length is combined as part of “setting” so you can choose calm music or 30+ seconds… but NOT BOTH!

Menus:
- TYPE = 4 options: any, songs, chords, beats
- STYLE = 16 options: any, ambient, bass, brass, cinematic, edm, electronic, futurepop, guitar, lofi, piano, pop, retrowave, rock, strings, synthpop
- SETTING = 9 options: any, calm, energetic, happy, sad, major key, minor key, long (30+ sec), short (1-30 sec)

Overall:

You don’t get what you see in APPSUMO unless you purchase a subscription. The fact that they provide “subscription screenshots” is very misleading in my humble opinion.

The generated music is okay and many of them sound the same (probably because all of the subscription settings are removed in the appsumo deal).

However, if you want to pay $2.50 a month for a subscription on top of the appsumo deal then go for it.

Why 3 tacos?

I bought it because of the settings I saw in the screenshots here in Appsumo, if this was a separate taco it would be 1 taco for misleading.

As for the music, it is still 3 tacos because of the missing settings/options making it much harder to produce better-sounding music. The mere fact that genre, instrument, BPM, and length are all removed makes it very hard to use this app.

Hopefully, one day the screenshots in Appsumo will actually match what customers are buying.

Hi teamkc, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.

The screenshots shown are for the standard access that AppSumo users get with the lifetime deal apart from one screenshot. That screenshot does mention in its description that it is from the Inspire plugin and in the deal terms it also states that access to the Inspire plugin in an optional add-on.

I am so sorry you feel the...
