Q: I don't understand a difference between "YouTube monetization" & "cannot resell music on Youtube".

I have 4 questions:

1.
If I create a new music, can I use it as a background music for my video clips and monetize this video clip on Youtube?

2.
If I create a new music, can I create a new name for it and monetize it on Youtube?

3.
If I create a new music, can I sell it on other websites as well as sell it to people on Youtube?

4.
If I create a new music, can I provide it for free like a Royalty Free Music on Youtube?
There are some Youtube channels like this. For example: "BreakingTheCopyright", "Audio Library — Music for content creators",...
They provide free copyright music, but users need to put a credit under their videos.
May I?

A: Hello LocNguyen.

Let me answer your 4 questions.

1. If I create a new music, can I use it as a background music for my video clips and monetize this video clip on Youtube?
Yes, you can. Just make sure you don't register the Youtube content ID.

2. If I create a new music, can I create a new name for it and monetize it on Youtube?
With the current license, no, you can't. But the license will change soon (we expect before the end of the year). So:

Current license: you can't.

New license: you will be able to distribute and resell the music (for free or paid) as long as it has been rearranged. For example, by adding a new instrument or vocals on top of it.
Basically, even with the new license, you cannot just download a song and distribute it on Youtube or Spotify. You need to arrange it.
The reason is that we want Soundraw to be a platform that helps our users with their creative endeavors, not a tool to help hackers flood Youtube and Spotify with AI generated music in an effort to earn a few dollars worth of ad revenue ;P

3. If I create a new music, can I sell it on other websites as well as sell it to people on Youtube?
The answer to this question is the same as for question 2, so please see above.
