Hey, thanks for the honest feedback — and sorry for the rough first impression. 🙏 Most of what you hit comes down to how the AppSumo lifetime plan works, so let me clear it up:

The AI not "knowing anything" / not working — this is the main one. AppSumo plans run on BYOK (Bring Your Own Key). Because it's a pay-once-use-forever deal, we don't meter AI on our side — instead you plug in your own AI provider key, and the Copilot, Chat and Summaries all come alive. Until a key is added, the AI features stay dormant, which is exactly what you ran into. Set it once in Settings → AI/Models and you're done.

"Can't connect it with ChatGPT" — important gotcha here: ChatGPT Plus ($20/mo) is NOT the same as OpenAI API access. BYOK needs API credits from platform.openai.com/billing, which is separate from any ChatGPT subscription. Once you add that API key (or an Anthropic/Gemini one), it works. You're paying your provider directly, capped by your own usage — Spellar doesn't charge you for it.
