Q: Hi Stackby, Yes, Airtable on steroids!

This looks like a really exciting tool and I would like to invest in multiple codes but after some exploring I have some questions/comments:
Questions:
1. I see that each stack can have multiple tables (for instance: the demo Project Tracker has tables for Projects/Clients/Tasks). Which leaves me concerned by the 10,000 Rows per stack limit. Does that limit mean I can only have a total of 10,000 rows split between all of those tables within one stack?

2. If so, is there a way for me to use the Link property on completely separate stacks? Due to the 10,000 rows limit it seems more plausible for me to create a completely separate CRM stack for my huge list of clients/customers and then link that to a completely separate stack for project management.

3. Is a Zapier integration expected in the future?

Compliments:
- I love that you can scroll the multiple attachments/cover images in the Kanban view. Awesome feature!
- Great addition with the per row history and comment feature.
- I also really love how you did the minimize Kanban column feature. Great Job!
- The workday difference formula is also really cool.

Comments - I would love to know your comments on any of this. Perhaps some of these things are already possible....?:
- After double clicking a single row to see the information. I would like to be able to widen the view of the info, instead of having a skinny column.

- I would really love to have the ability to notify particular collaborators if project status changes. For instance: in the demo Project Tracker, if the "Category" column choice is changed then include a setting in that column property to notify the collaborator listed in the "Lead?" column. Is there already a way to do this that I am not seeing, I feel like there already could be?

- It would also be nice to set the reminders to a particular collaborator.

- A super awesome feature would be to reveal hidden columns triggered by an option field. For instance: in the demo Project Tracker, if "Brand Management" is the chosen "Category" then a previously hidden attachment field named "logo" is revealed. Sort of like an IF/THEN column property. Same thing might apply for the above collaboration feature request.

- I love the default text feature with the text field properties, but it would be really cool to also be able to set field defaults for other fields like options & collaborators.

- Lastly, I would really like a way to be able to set an automatic notification/Reminder if a projects due date is close. I see that we can use the WORKDAY_DIFF() formula to count the days, but is there a way to set a reminder when it hits a certain number?

Hi Digital Refresh,

Thanks for your detailed questions.

1. You get 20 stacks per workspace, so ideally 20 stacks *10K rows = 200K rows per workspace. In a single stack, you can add either 10k rows in one table or multiple tables.

2. Link is not possible across stacks, because each stack can have different user permissions.

3. Yes, Zapier is in the roadmap. Please follow here: https://bit.ly/37CludD

Thanks for the compliments.

Comments:

1. YES, you can expand a row to view the information in detail. If you are on that row, just hit SPACE BAR.

2. You can add one or multiple 'Collaborator' column type, and choose to notify the collaborators on that row.

3. Once you expand a row, you can set a due-date and reminder as well. Not just that, you can integrate your Slack to get those reminders in any of your channel.

4. Reveal hidden columns comment - You can use Filters and do the same thing. Just apply a Filter and then hide or show a column. You can add multiple grid views based on this.

5. Will definitely consider that.

6. Please use the 'Reminder' feature on expand row. Check comment #3 as well.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Rachit,

Thanks for the quick reply!! Your answers defiantly clarified a few things for me but I am still fuzzy on a few things.

1. I fully understand that if you put the stacks together you get 200k in rows. But that also means one stack, no matter how many tables/tabs in that stack can only have a cumulative total of 10k rows between all of that Stack's tables/tabs correct....? Each table within the stack doesn't receive 10k of rows.

For instance: if I import my list of 8,000 customers (table 1) and want to link those customers to my projects (table 2) I am now only left with the ability to create a maximum of 2,000 projects. Do I understand that correctly...?

2. Bummer!!! Being that your answer to question 2 was that we cannot link across stacks that makes those additional (190k) rows unhelpful. I really feel like it would be extremely beneficial to have a way to link across stacks in order to truly make these row limits viable. (perhaps that might be something to consider in the future)

Previous Comments:
1. The expanded row view that you mention, is the view that I was originally referring to. I would really like that pop up view to have more space horizontally it is very narrow.

2. I did see the multiple 'Collaborator' notify feature, but it just states that the collaborator will notified when they are added to the row (which is a good start). But it sounds like that is just a one time notification. I was looking for a notification that is sent to the collaborator that is triggered by a change to a set field in that row. For example: if a row's status is changed from 'in progress' to 'complete', I would like for it to automatically notify any collaborators that are assigned to that row.

3. I did see that reminders section. But doesn't that just remind the user that sets the reminder or does it remind all of the collaborators mentioned on the row? I would like to be able to set a reminder for one particular collaborator on the team. Since the value of stacking is to gain additional users it would be nice to have some features where having different users is useful.

4. Thanks for that suggestion. Its not 100%, but I think it could be a work around.

5. Thanks

6. Similar to #2 I was hoping for something I could create a formula/setting for so that it would trigger a notification automatically. Having to set multiple reminders for every individual row is tedious. If there was some sort of way to trigger a notification to send IF field = 'set parameter' that would AMAZING! That way we could make better use of stackby users.

Thanks again for the awesome tool/opportunity

Hi,

1. Correct. You get make 1 table of 10k rows or 10 tables, its really upto you per stack.

2. We can't interlink stacks, as I said because of different user access you can add on each stack. Imagine you have 2 users on one stack and 3 different users on another, an interlink would expose the respective row data across the stacks.

On comments:

1. Ok, sure. That's a UI comment, will take the best approach that fits all here.

2. Those are more advanced Automations, which we don't have yet.

3. On Reminders, it notifies all. But you can integrate to a particular Slack channel either personal or group.

6. Sure, will try and add more automations in the future.
