Q: Hi, Your API approach to Stackby is very interesting.

I have some questions before making purchase:
1) Can Stackby accept any type of 3rd party API? I have a Hotel Channel Manager that has an API system based on json and XML (https://www.beds24.com/api/). I would like to get incoming date booking, price paid and customer details from out Hotel Channel Manager and store it in Stackby for easy access and performance analysis. Maybe update the booking data into a calendar in Stackby. Would this be possible?

2) Can Stackby be used as a API connector similar to Zapier? Get API data from one app and then send API data to another app?

3) Can Stackby be used for accounting? To record income, expenses, salary, cash flow records etc?

4) Is there a limit on how many API i can connect to Stackby?

5) Does Stackby include automatons? For example if I am getting data from an API and storing it in one database and to avoid it from becoming too long, once a certain certain number of rows has been reached (or at a certain date, maybe once a month), I want Stackby to automatically save older records into a spreadsheet file and store it somewhere. Can this be done automatically?

Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

Hi there,

Thanks for your encouragement.

1. We have custom APIs in our roadmap, post which you'll be able to bring your own APIs directly in stacks.

2. Yes, we can pull information via native popular 3rd party services like YouTube, Facebook, MailChimp, Hunter.io etc. and push information via Twilio, WhatsApp and Slack. But we don't intend to be Zapier, infact we have now connected to them. We are connecting those APIs where information is not readily accessible with Zapier kind of tools - like analytics, reporting and other important data.

3. Yes you can use for expense and budget tracking with different formulas, but not full blown like an excel. Note in our platform - formulas are at the column level not at the cell level, so it can be more structured and sorted in the columns.

4. You can connect upto 15 APIs in a workspace. It's most closely related to our business plan.

5. Stackby won't automatically do such tasks. You will have to manually get that data in a spreadsheet and store it in your cloud or computer.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Thanks,
Rachit

These same set of questions are exactly what I’m looking at as well. Is question number (5) a possibility on your roadmap?

5th one is not possible today, nor we intend to do it because our users can manually dump the table info or filtered table in a CSV, store in the computer and can delete and move on.

Hope this helps.
