Tool is good, but the LTD structure + marketing mismatch is what buyers need to think about
I’ve gone all‑in on Stackby through AppSumo:
*Tier 5 (max LTD)
*Power‑up LTD add-on
*Automations lifetime add‑on
*Sync lifetime add‑on
In total I’ve invested over $1,000 because I see the long‑term value in owning this tool and building my business on it instead of just renting software every year.
The core product is strong and flexible. It can absolutely justify a serious business using it every day, and that’s why this is not a 1‑star review.
The main reason this is 3 stars instead of 5 is the way the current AppSumo page markets the views, especially Timeline and List. In several sections on the AppSumo page for this deal, it clearly says Timeline is included and calls out List as part of the available views, which makes it sound like these views are part of what you get when you buy this deal today. In reality, they are not actually available in my Tier 5 + add‑ons account.
Even if these views are “nice to have” rather than absolutely critical, the frustration comes from the expectation created by the AppSumo page. For someone making a large one‑time investment and stacking multiple lifetime add‑ons, it’s completely reasonable to trust that prominently listed views are truly included in the plan being sold on that page.
This also raises a bigger long‑term concern:
If clearly advertised views like Timeline/List can be left out today, it makes me wonder what else might be excluded 3–5 years from now for LTD customers while newer features go to subscriptions only. That uncertainty makes it harder to confidently recommend the LTD over simply paying for the regular subscription, especially for people who haven’t already invested as much as I have.
I also understand that no LTD can realistically include every future feature forever. Earlier LTD buyers had their own version of this when newer capabilities on the current deal required extra payment to access. That’s part of how SaaS evolves. What worries me is the pattern: it makes it feel like LTD customers will always be slightly behind the “real” business plans and will need to keep paying for extras to stay close, while subscribers stay aligned with the current product by default. For some people, that might mean a normal subscription is actually the clearer, more predictable choice than going all‑in on LTD plus multiple add‑ons.
To be very direct: if the AppSumo page says Timeline/List are included on this deal, they should be included in my account. If they are not going to be included, the page should be updated so buyers aren’t led to believe they’re getting something they can’t actually use.
I’m leaving this at 3 stars only because of that mismatch between what the AppSumo page strongly implies and what is actually available in my account. If Stackby updates my account to include Timeline/List as the AppSumo page promises, I’ll gladly come back and change this to 5 stars. I’m sharing this publicly not to hurt Stackby, but because I genuinely want the deal and the messaging to be aligned so both the company and future buyers can win from this long term.

Product Listing for My Shop: A Huge Relief!
This tool has revolutionized product listing for my online shop and is a **huge relief** for my entire project.
The ability to use **API Calls** and the integrated **AI automation** is particularly noteworthy. This has allowed me to **enormously improve** my product data while simultaneously achieving a significant **time saving**. The automation takes care of tasks that previously took hours.
Furthermore, the **outstanding support** must be mentioned, especially from **Rachit**. It is remarkable how he personally takes the time to **respond in detail**—even at times when one would think he should actually be sleeping.
Overall, this is an **absolutely recommendable** tool that delivers on its promises. A thoroughly **positive review**!

You must Upgrade and pay for such a basic feature as colour formatting cells, rows.
You must Upgrade and pay for such a basic feature as colour formatting cells, rows. However, it is affordable.
I can understand to pay for some additional features. But colour formatting cells is such a basic thing that cant be behind the pay wall:(

Best value for your money
I bought the first lifetime deal and was dissapointed because It had upselling options for simple stuff such as colour format and snapshots, and now I do regret it, since I lost the opportunity of a bigger nicer deal. At first glance it can appear that is expensive, but Stackby charges you by rows; so its better deal than options that charges you by records. I literally tried 4 alternatives to discover how good the deal it was.
So here I am buying this lifetime deal, with less perks than the first one that I missed. Once you know how powerups work, having the option to upscale my license its better for me than other lifetime deals that asks me to pay full price whenever more users or features are needed.
In my particular case, buying the 5 tier option and a $124 annual power up is literally $2.48/month per user. Some other options charge as much as $24 USD per user for less space than my 5 tier Stackby license, again because they charge per record and Stackby charge per rows. No code spreadsheets / databases like Stackby are incredible expensive, so I consider myself happy for finding this deal that is affordable for my budget.
Last but not least, documentation is great and is really friendly to use. I read about speed issues below but Im on 160 rows aprox and speed its not an issue at all (about 15,000 records).
Only thing that I wish they improve is support speed. Theyre good but because the timezones sometimes takes more hours to get an answer that I would like.
So there you go, Is not until you compare with other options that you see how good of a deal Stackby is.

Jul 14, 2025Hi there, thanks a lot for the review.
We're working on the product for the last 7 years, growing our team and releasing features and updates a minimum of twice a week.
We're working hard to improve our support speed as well, since we're overwhelmed with support requests (thanks to this campaign).
Really appreciate your review again. Please reach out to us on support@stackby.com if you need...

A Promising Tool Lost in a Maze of Upsells
As an AppSumo user, I was initially excited by the prospect of a lifetime deal for Stackby. The promise of a powerful, all-in-one database and workflow tool was incredibly appealing. However, my enthusiasm has since been tempered by a confusing and often frustrating user experience, particularly when it comes to understanding what is and isn't included in the AppSumo deal.
The core of my frustration lies with the "Power-Ups." After purchasing the AppSumo deal, I quickly discovered that many of the features I was most excited about were locked behind this additional paywall. What makes this particularly vexing is the lack of clarity in the initial offer. The AppSumo deal page paints a picture of a feature-rich platform, but the reality is a more limited version that constantly nudges you towards further purchases.
For example, essential functionalities that I would expect to be standard in a tool like this, such as advanced form features or certain data recovery options, are designated as "Power-Ups." This creates a fragmented and confusing experience where you're never quite sure what will work out of the box and what will require another investment. It feels less like a lifetime deal and more like a down payment on a tool that will require ongoing financial commitment to be truly functional.
This approach to pricing and feature-gating has left me feeling a bit misled. While the core functionality of Stackby is solid, the constant need to navigate a maze of add-ons and "Power-Ups" to unlock its full potential is a significant drawback. It's a promising tool that is unfortunately hampered by a business model that seems to prioritize upselling over a clear and transparent user experience for its AppSumo customers.
I truly hope Stackby considers a more straightforward approach for its lifetime deal users in the future. A clear and upfront explanation of what is included, and a more generous offering of core features without the need for immediate additional purchases, would go a long way in building trust and fostering a more positive user community. Until then, I would advise potential AppSumo buyers to be aware of these hidden costs and limitations before making a purchase.

Jul 14, 2025Hello David,
We launched Powerups back in 2022 with 5 features, and now it boasts over 35 features (across grid, forms, views, sharing/permissions, export/append/restore and more). We have meticulously developed these Powerups - each Powerup is feature rich and solves a particular use deeply.
With a one-time investment on Powerups, it's negligible for buyers who are building serious workflows...
