If you are using Excel for *anything*, don't miss this. Great product.
I thought I didn't need this. After some back and forth, I decided I would just check it out. (Thanks AppSumo for the generous refund terms!) Whoa. It is one of my three or four favorite AppSumo products ever. Seriously, it is that good. A year from now, no doubt this will be my most used AppSumo product in terms of hours spent with the tool.
What makes it so great? Stackby fires your spreadsheet program. I will never use a excel (or google sheets) again after getting Stackby. If you have ever written a lot of vlookups, buy this. If you use spreadsheets daily (or several times a week) to manipulate data or track stuff, buy this.
Technically, it isn't a spreadsheet, it is a relational database. But after an hour playing with it, it hit me like a proverbial brick, "Why the $#^ have I been trying to get a spreadsheet to the job of a database for the last x years?!?" Yeah, excel/sheets works for all that crap I do day after day, but that doesn't mean it's the right tool. Using the right tool is like getting somewhere on a bicycle instead of on crutches. Whoosh!
Odds are, if you are spending a lot of time on spreadsheets, Stackby is going to give you a ton of your time back. It has for me. I'd add that the customer support has been epic, and the documentation is fantastic.
My one complaint is really just about how the AppSumo deal is structured. I wish that the stacks went up by 20 with each code. As it is, we are incentivized to redeem each single code with a different email to get 60 stacks instead of 30. (For 3 Codes). That's really annoying. But that's a complaint about the pricing structure... the product is truly great and a must have if you do anything on excel. Thanks Stackby team!

May 9, 2024Hi there,
Thanks for this amazing review! It makes our day.
I personally have struggled with spreadsheets for years before building Stackby and could resonate with you very well.
We've recently released conditional lookups and aggregation, as you get better with Stackby do try that out and I'm sure you'll see 100s of use-cases for it.
We will continue to build an amazing product with support from stackers like you. Thanks again!
