You can make two types of video, Live (stock) video and animation videos. Since I have Pictory I only tested the animation video.

On the basis of a script it will make an animation. And the animation has two kinds of animations; textual animation and also some character / element animation. It goes through a three step process.

You can also add your own script or let it generate its own script. Adding my own script could be hit and miss but using its text and then layering mine in worked the best. And of course choosing the freeoptions for animations.

My use case is spicing up online courses. It does not have to be Garfield originality, just enough to help bring the point across.

The positive of Steve.ai, this is base quality and it really does save a ton of time.

What is really missing for me and I fed this back, is the ability to add housestyle / branding colours. Because that would upscale the vidoes a lot. They said its coming and I waited with this review to see if it would arrive. Because that single change would lift the results up substantially. Sadly not here yet.

Just the way today everything is video, animation is a way of engaging and standing out a bit. This is the makers of animaker and they know a thing or two about animation.

I am a bit sceptical if this will be worked on and if there will be a lot of development - but with the colour change AND being able to switch off the scene transitions AND being able to easily change out the animations I would say this has to be a thumbs up.

And last but not least. The support I got from Ruban was outstanding. Maybe I would give a 4 normally but with the support and the encouragement to this team I make it a 5, please do add the colour functionality.

So if you would like to animate text to get attention, you want to do a lot f under 1 minutes, this is a good tool and just for animating text it saves oodles of time.
