Worst customer service Response ever
(To get to the point look at the bottom paragraph) I have been with them for several years and always taken the time to share feedback and issues back and forth with them to the point some of their developers and staff would reach out and actively ask me how the new features where working out and for feedback and ideas. I even had a zoom type call with their staff previously per their request on brainstorming ideas.
The new Platform style has way more limitations then their previous versions but I can look past it.
What I can't look past it their recent change in the way they handle customer service. It was a saving grace before and made things bearable not anymore.
They recently launched "new features" but excluded LTD customers. They bombarded my emails for a few weeks about these new features and how to get on some learning video etc.
When on their "launch day" I found the features missing I reached out to their support thinking it might be a simple bug because lets face it may be they were doing the roll out in phases.
They started by not stating since I don't pay monthly not to expect access and if I wanted it to expect to pay.
When I questioned if the monthly paying customers get access they stated those customers do but AppSumo customers do not.
When I brought up the fact that we as LTD customers get access to all updates I was immediately faced with an abrasive answer claiming AppSumo had told customers of changes and they will not be providing the updates. They then said to buy directly from them.
Let me be clear:
- AppSumo never did send out this mythical notice (They are pretty good at sending emails but additionally I checked out the page and sure enough no updates where there either)
When I questioned Steve.AI about this purchase they stated I should make they stated to cancel my plan with AppSumo if I didn't like it but that AppSumo would have more details. So far from communicating with AppSumo Steve.AI is claiming that the new features are a 3rd party feature so will not be included but in the email from Steve.AI they never claim that and additionally state all Gen AI features are excluded from LTD customers.
HERE IS THE MAJOR PROBLEM:
Their entire platform at this point is all powered by their new Gen AI system. Meaning if LTD is being excluded you can basically look at but NOT touch anything because everything uses Gen AI on their platform now since the recent update. That or you would get the equivalent of low quality free assets from other sites that don't match a video you try to create. They also locked away features like audio to video to yet again Monthly subscribers. this one isn't even a new feature so it makes no sense.
I Understand AppSumo can't refund me the money (that I can sit ok with because its been a bit) but I cannot and will not be ok with Steve.AI effectively breaching their agreement and making the platform so dependent on their new Gen AI (which LTD is excluded from) that it makes it worthless for the LTD customers/investors.
But AppSumo is going to also not escape some scrutiny. When asked to intervene the final response was basically "They told us they can't afford to include it for LTD đ¤ˇââď¸ so here's why you should understand..."
No that is not the deal. They promised and Committed themselves to giving us access to new features what you need to do is send an email to all their LTD customers saying "We been informed of XYZ", apologize and make it clear it's not your fault (save face before others ask what you are doing or not doing about it) and possibly send a coupon for like an additional 10-15% off the next purchase on the AppSumo Platform. Additionally place any current or future products from this company or any of their creators on a alert system stating they had these types of issues in the past.
A Badge of Dishonor or at least a Badge to let people know there has been issues with their previous products.
