Recommend it without hesitation if you make video content regularly and want decisions backed by data instead of gut feel.

I purchased Subscribr and after thorough tests and comparisons using the same prompts I decided to refund Poppy AI.

Poppy is good due to ease of use and the canvas UI/UX, which I love, but it's far more expensive compared to Subscribr, which gives better outputs if you use it correctly.

While Subscribr does require a little more effort on the input side, the output (if done correctly) gives far better aligned scripts. Much more aligned with my voice and branding when you prompt it well.

Poppy doesn't do a bad job, but for the price it simply isn't worth it.

On top of this, the Poppy founder didn't shy away from the fact that they intend to exit eventually, which would mean uncertainty for LTD holders.

In my experience AppSumo offers no protection to users in this kind of situation. They pretend and act like they care, but the reality from experience is they simply don't.

Within 1 year your 1-4k investment could go down the drain and there's nothing AppSumo will do ethically or legally.

I would love to see Subscribr rebuild in a way that incorporates a similar canvas UI/UX approach to what Poppy has since it makes the process much more seamless, easier to manage and follow, rather than the archaic linear chat approach which is becoming a thing of the past. Subscribr needs to innovate here since canvas style UI/UX is the future.

I have decided I'll be going with T5 for now since it allows unlimited channels at ~$800 compared to spending ~2k for Poppy, which would make the risk way too high to try and ROI within 1 year.

In my experience AppSumo stops looking out for you once the refund window closes, since that's when they've already made their money.

I'd recommend AppSumo take a harder look at how LTD exits get handled, because right now the businesses selling here have every incentive to exploit and exit and leave lifetime buyers with nothing, and there's no real recourse when it happens.

For this reason, I'm willing to risk T5 as I am confident I can get an ROI with Subscribr within 12 months at this price point.

The pros with Subscribr are mainly in the research and (if you prompt well) the output, and as a bonus, which swayed me to buying, they even allow you to use your OpenAI / Claude subscription instead of API so it's a no brainer to use it instead of shelving it.

Poppy is useful if you have money to burn and don't mind the likelihood of losing $1-4k in 1-2 years or so. It's super easy to use with sub par outputs.

They [Poppy] only allow API at T5 (over $2000 spend) due to "white glove support," which reads to me like a way to avoid giving users more control. I don't think that reasoning holds up. Major red flag trying to force you to upgrade for a simple feature many users are smart enough to use. Poor tactics on their part and proof they value profit of their users.

If you're willing to invest a little more effort with Subscribr in its current form (which would be much better with a canvas style approach) you'll reap the benefits with outstanding output.

My channel has gone from ~1200 subs to 6000 in 3 months using Subscribr scripts as I have a good system of prompts, but with a canvas where I could easily swap my research and edit my prompts, I'd churn out more content much easier.

The only real negative for me with Subscribr is the workflow, but while it's not the best or most seamless, it's ok. Just requires a little effort to get there.

The only thing Subscribr really needs to work on is making it much easier to incorporate your voice and brand, which can require a bit of trial and error to get right. A canvas would solve this so easily.

With all that said, at this price pointn for Subscribr compared to Poppy it's the less risky investment and better script performer with a little more effort.

Also, Poppy credits deplete super fast, so you'll be spending more on add ons or on your own API.

A bonus feature request would be for Subscribr to allow us to easily source video outliers like Poppy does rather than having to leave the app to do it manually, and to let us easily copy content from other platforms the way Poppy does.

Poppy and Subscribr both have their pros and cons. Poppy's just way over priced with the risk of an exit, which feels more likely to happen eventually since the founder has said that's their goal, and if that happens the LTD users are usually the first ones to lose out, so it's not a smart long term investment.

Overall, Subscribr has a lot of room for improvement. It's a solid, mature tool with constant improvements and I'd rather risk $800 on T5 than $4k on Poppy, so I'm sticking with this and will use it thoroughly to get a good ROI within a year. Something much less likely with Poppy, even if it is the easier tool to use right now.

If you don't feel like re-creating this yourself aka not a claude code power user, then it's perfect for you. The selling point I was told was the voice and trending videos and ideas and all this extra fluff, that honestly isn't valuable. For example one of the trending videos was an obviously boosted video with 100k views, 20 likes and a few comments.

Bryan held some awesome google meets going over the product and answering questions. So a part of me wants to downgrade to tier 1 just to support the team even though I won't be using Subscribr. I hope they focus more on Subscribr video as that is the future and a true gem. This current product for scripts and hooks is nothing I cannot produce myself in Claude Code CLI where it has literally everything I've ever written and constantly learns about me agentically everyday that I use it.

I absolutely love SUBSCRIBR. I have tried VIDIQ, which seems good since it was the pioneer platform in the market. However, I find SUBSCRIBR to be much better, as the technology it uses is far more sophisticated.
The copy it generates is much closer to what I am looking for and aligns perfectly with my own brand voice. The research—essentially everything SUBSCRIBR does—is truly on a much higher level than VIDIQ.
I am extremely satisfied with this service. I am currently on LEVEL 3 and would like to upgrade to LEVEL 4; I hope to do so very soon.

I originally picked up a Tier 2 of Subscribr and found it "OK" for lightweight, casual use. In the meantime I started using ChatGPT for general tasking and discovered it was pretty decent for video scripts too, but I found myself having to get recursive with it to get the output I wanted. I recently refunded another product and decided to use the AppSumo credits to bump my Subscribr account to Tier 3, as I was getting more serious about my video production workflow. The extra features of Tier 3 made Subscribr much more useful. BUT (there's always a but...) I also found out that the right prompts *really* make a difference with getting good output in "my" voice. ChatGPT has a connector to Subscribr and I used ChatGPT to understand what kinds of prompts Subscribr wants. OK prompts generate generic scripts. Good prompts can generate great scripts in YOUR voice.
