Credits are costly
I would have loved the chance to upgrade to the new tiers at the old cost, but they got slipped in at the last minute, along with the price hike, which is aggravating. That's not looking out for me. These reviews are acting like this tool is printing gold over here! Which is being reflected in the new pricing and current credit allotment. I've generated thousands of scripts over the past year with a.i. and have perfected my formula and prompts to be able to generate amazing longform and shortform scripts. A few went viral, and one of them has surpassed 8 million views currently. I used subscribr to generate a couple scripts and the quality was basic and not as detailed as the scripts that I'm used to generating. Noticeably to the point that my subscribers will think I've hired a new scriptwriter with less skill. I would love to see more detail and depth with subscribr scripts in the future. I find it very hard to believe that this is using 5 different AI models to create the scripts, and if so, you may want to look into just using chat GPT as it's sufficient enough and then cut those "supposed" costs. The intros are very generic, and AI with the "welcome to my channel, blah blah blah." Also, having "Picture this:" appear in every script generated is a bit repetitive, and that should be considered a negative AI term with how often it is used. I would love to fire myself and use subscribr for scripts, but it isn't there yet for me, and the amount of credits given for these expensive tiers is atrocious, then they slipped in more tiers during the price hike. :( The technology is cool, and it has a nice interface; I'm going to keep it because I think the scripts will improve, but using 5 different AI models for this kind of output pssshh that wreaks of bologna. And if so, wow, would I be cutting back and simply using chat GPT or Grok so that I don't have to reflect that unnecessary cost to my customers... I will stick around to see the improvements, and I also saw a thumbnail generator on the roadmap, but I'm guessing we will have to donate an organ to afford the credits to use that.

Feb 27, 2025Thanks for your detailed review, I appreciate it. It's very cool to hear that you've perfected an AI scriptwriting workflow that works for you. It's not an easy thing to do well, and can take a lot of time to perfect. That's exactly why I created Subscribr.
It sounds like the main challenges you've had with Subscribr are due to the writing style it uses. But Subscribr comes with a VERY powerful tool called Channel Voice that gives you complete control over the way Subscribr writes. The users who get the most from Subscribr spend some time refining their channel voice to get the style how they like it. Here is a detailed guide explaining how it works: https://help.subscribr.ai/article/15-controlling-your-writing-style.
I work with many customers to refine the voice based on their feedback, and I am happy to do so with you. If you'd like help, please contact me using the chat bubble at the bottom left of the app. Make sure to provide details on a specific script as well as what you'd like to change about the writing style, and I can make some suggestions.
Regarding the "slipped in tiers" and price hike, the timing was unfortunately out of my control. I worked quickly to add the new pricing tiers last week due to lots of requests, but because of the weekend the AppSumo team was unable to make them live until Monday.
Subscribr may be more expensive than other tools, but it's because it prioritizes quality over cost. I'm sorry to hear that your initial experience was a bad one - but I encourage you to spend some time customizing the channel voice, as it's a powerful feature and can make a big difference. Reach out if you need any help. And thanks once again for your support and the review.
