I've been working with Supermachine for quite some time now, and while I've noticed that many users feel scammed, I believe there are important aspects worth discussing.

First and foremost, it's clear that Supermachine has a lot of potential, especially with its pricing structure. The GEM approach offers users good value—$50 can buy more than 55,000 Gems, which translates to the generation of thousands of photos and hundreds of videos. This pricing model is highly competitive.

However, I do believe that Supermachine needs to adopt a more sustainable approach to ensure long-term success and maintain user trust. Many early supporters of the startup feel overlooked, and it’s essential for the company to recognize and reward this loyalty. By developing modules that consistently deliver good results, Supermachine can create a win-win situation for both the company and its users.

Another area for improvement is the removal of obsolete modules. It’s vital for the platform to stay current and relevant, which means phasing out tools that no longer meet user needs or that don't perform well. This will help streamline the user experience and prevent frustration from using outdated features.

In conclusion, while there are valid concerns from the user community, my experience with Supermachine has generally been positive. If they can focus on sustainability, reward their early supporters, and refresh their offerings by removing outdated modules, they have the potential to thrive.

I purchased SUPERMACHINE as a lifetime deal on AppSumo, where the following terms were clearly advertised: “Deal terms and conditions: Lifetime access to SUPERMACHINE. All future Apprentice Plan updates. If Plan name changes, deal will be mapped to the new Plan name with all accompanying updates.” This promise is, in my view, being twisted in a way that effectively devalues the lifetime offer.

The introduction of the separate “Gem” system is the core of the problem: new, truly interesting and powerful models are only accessible through this additional artificial currency, while lifetime customers are effectively stuck with old, technically outdated models that can still be used with their existing credits. Gems feel like the silly fantasy tokens in Itchy and Scratchy Land: you exchange real money for play money, only to realize that without these tokens, the main attractions are off-limits. These are methods used in free-to-play mobile games.

The public explanations and justifications by the developer are particularly disappointing: instead of openly addressing the devaluation of the lifetime deal, they emphasize that they have to pay per generation for licensed models and that all users are treated the same in the Gem system. In practice, however, this means that those who originally financed the lifetime deal now face a paywall for the relevant innovations, which is hard to reconcile with the original lifetime promise.

This is exactly why people invest in a startup via AppSumo – they share the risk and rely on “lifetime access,” including future plan updates, rather than being effectively excluded later through internal currency acrobatics. If essential further developments are only usable with additional, recurring payments, this is no longer a lifetime deal but a retrospectively rebranded subscription model.

SUPERMACHINE may work for some use cases, but from a lifetime customer’s perspective, the current direction is non‑transparent, customer‑unfriendly, and destroys trust. To me, the overall package now feels like a scam, even if it might be described differently in legal terms.

I purchased three codes and have really enjoyed using Supermachine — the platform is fast, the UI is clean, and the image quality has been consistently good. I was genuinely impressed with the value at first.

However, the recent shift to locking all new image models behind a separate “Premium” paywall feels unfair to lifetime-deal buyers. The original AppSumo offer clearly stated that LTD users would receive future updates to the plan, and it highlighted ongoing model additions as part of the product’s evolution.

I fully understand charging extra for big new features like video or specialised tools — that makes sense. But placing every new image model behind a new tier effectively reduces the value of the lifetime deal we paid for, and it doesn’t align with the expectations set at purchase.

Supermachine is a great product, and I still want to support it. I just hope Stuart and the team revisits this decision or provides clearer guidance on what future access LTD users should expect. A bit more transparency here would go a long way.

As a Tier 5 Lifetime Deal investor, I supported Supermachine early with the belief that it would be a long-term creative platform that continued to grow with its users. Unfortunately, that investment has lost much of its value over time.

Supermachine has introduced a new “Gem” system for its latest and most capable AI models, which now require additional payment to use. Lifetime Deal users cannot access these models with their existing credits and are effectively limited to older, outdated models that no longer keep pace with current AI generation standards or professional expectations.

I understand that newer, licensed models come with costs, but the outcome is that early supporters now have very limited practical value left in their deal. The introduction of a separate paid system has placed the most meaningful updates out of reach for Lifetime Deal users.

Equally disappointing is the lack of clear communication around these changes. There was never a detailed explanation of how future updates or model access would be handled for Lifetime Deal tiers, and this lack of transparency has understandably led to frustration among early backers.

Supermachine still operates, but for Lifetime Deal investors, it feels like being left behind on an older version while the platform moves forward elsewhere.

like the speakers before me, I am more than disappointed: Not only is Supermachine extremely slow (unacceptably so) and delivers comparatively poor results, but the new model also excludes us from improvements.

Before you justify this, I would like to refer to your comparison with countless image generators; in your six‑part table you always come out looking good. Especially on pricing, you create the impression that with SM you get for a one‑time payment what, for example, costs 120 US dollars per year at Recraft.
At Recraft you can choose from many models, including Flux 1.1 Pro or Imagen 4. These cost 2 credits; at 10 US dollars per month for 1,000 credits, that amounts to 500 generations for 10 US dollars.

At Supermachine you need Gems—80 Gems for Flux or 120 Gems for Imagen 4. Let’s look at what 55,000 Gems cost: you charge 50 US dollars; that yields 687 image generations for Flux and 458 for Imagen 4. Compared with the monthly 10 US dollars at Recraft, that would be only 137 or 91 images versus 500 generations at the same cost.

You compare yourself, I believe, with 29 other image generators, from A like Adobe Firefly to V like Vidu AI. Anyone who, like me, actually uses some of them will see this quite differently and, with identical prompts, gets far better quality.
What really feels like being bled dry is having invested in a Plan 4—four times 79 US dollars, i.e., 316 US dollars—for 4,000 credits, only to now see that there is direct lifetime access (without credit limits) for 129 US dollars.

My advice to anyone interested: instead of paying for a lifetime deal, choose an affordable subscription with high‑quality generators, because “Premium” at Supermachine is just another paid tier; everyone can do the math on what’s truly cost‑effective.
In any case, I am more than disappointed—the worst deal of my life.

my first post before the addition

Dear Supermachine Team,

I would like to share some thoughts about my experience with the platform. Currently, I am trying to generate images with Supermachine, and unfortunately, I have to say that the process often takes a very long time. I find myself staring at the screen, and after 10 minutes, the page is still not fully loaded, and I have also been waiting for the image for the same amount of time. Admittedly, there are times, like in the middle of the night, when it is faster, but overall, I find the speed to be inadequate.

In the new interface, I have the option to increase the steps up to 80, but I do not see a sampler, which only costs credits unnecessarily without providing any real benefit.
Now we are at the 15-minute mark, and I can only see half an image in the preview from SD 3.5 Large. I sincerely hope that the situation improves in the future. What good are 4000 credits to me when I have to frustratedly switch to Replicate and pay their high prices?
I just saw that the three images were finally generated after 18 minutes. That’s it for me today; I will log out now.

I truly expected more from the platform.
