Q: Canada expansion and some technical questions

Hi there,
Tabby looks promising as a QuickBooks alternative. A few quick questions:

1. With the planned Canada expansion in ~6 months, will French language support be added?
My Quebec inc business uses CAD but has USD expenses/vendors/clients. Will I be able to set CAD as primary currency while handling USD transactions (with manual exchange rates like in QuickBooks)?

2. Can I create numbered accounts and nested sub-accounts in the chart of accounts?

3. Does it handle prepaid expenses and deferred revenue well (amortization/deferral over time)?

4. If the service ever shuts down, can I easily export all data to migrate to QuickBooks, Wave, etc.?

Thanks a lot for your time!

A: Hi there, see answers below:

Canada expansion and Language: While we are planning to expand to Canada in the next 3 to 6 months , we currently do not have plans to add French to our language options. Regarding currency, Tabby is currently set to USD and does not support multi-currency or manual exchange rates yet. For now, you can record your income and expenses in USD, and as we look into adding multi-currency options in the future (potentially 9-12 months away), you would be able to manage those different currencies then.

Chart of Accounts: You can currently create custom categories/accounts. While sub-accounts are not available right now, we are actively working on them and aim to have them released in early 2026.

Prepaid Expenses and Amortization: Tabby is designed for simplified, AI-powered bookkeeping. It does not currently handle automatic amortization or deferrals for prepaid expenses and revenue. However, you can manually create and manage these categories in your chart of accounts.

Data Export: We are confident in our long-term growth and stability, but you always have control over your data. You can export all of your transactions and financial reports to Excel at any time.
