Q: Follow up Question on Imports

I asked this question as a follow-up question, but haven't gotten a response, so I'm putting it to a separate question. I would like to get, and I'm sure it's not just me, much more clarity on the import function. What happens if someone has 10 years of data in Xero or QuickBooks or any other platforms? It's not just about importing the bank statements, but what about the entire transaction history? Can you please provide some more explanation on how this will work? I have more than 10 years of Xero data. I don't want to import the bank statements—I want to import the entire transaction categorization history. Is that possible now, or what do you recommend? Would it be feasible now or once you have the xero migration tool. Would appreciate clear information on this process

A: I understand your query. There are two different ways to handle your historical data:

Historical Bank Imports: You can import all of your bank transactions from any backdate you choose. You can either sync them automatically or upload them manually to cover the specific period you need.

Full Data Migration: Since you are asking about a full migration, this involves importing your Profit & Loss reports, Balance Sheets, and all General Ledger entries.

When you migrate the General Ledger, all of those categorized transactions will come over together, ensuring your historical records and account balances remain accurate in the new system.

Awesome one last question if I've created specific transaction categories for example like a a revenue transaction or expense transaction that doesn't exist in your platform but exists in zero what happens then? Well this custom revenue or expense transaction be created in your platform or would it be moved to something else
