Not usable outside of the US
If you're not in the US, you cannot use this product. The only currency supported is USD, the addresses are US-only, and you can only use it in the US.
The product has good potential but is still in early development, so it's too early for a full release. Some shortcomings include:
- No payment processor
- No way to preview invoices
- No option to edit transactions to include sales or purchase tax
- No way to split a transaction, for example, separating a meal payment from a tip and recording taxes separately
- The categorization and reports are based solely on US tax regulations.
Besides being limited to the US, these are just a few disappointments I've found so far. The developers say most of these features are on the roadmap, including adding other countries, and they promise these will be added in six or more months. However, I’m in Canada and run a business, so I don’t have time to wait and hope all my needs will be met someday.
For now, even my starter Wave account is powerhouse compared to Tabby, and it supports many countries and their tax regulations. I had high expectations for this product and bought Tier 3, but I can’t use it because it’s only built for the US. Unfortunately, the product is not usable for me at this time.
I wish the developers all the best, and if in the future the product improves and becomes usable outside the US, I’ll give it another try. But for now, I’m requesting a refund. I just wish the developers were more transparent and honestly stated that their product is for US use only.

Edited Dec 10, 2025Hi there, I appreciate the feedback you provided and I would like to reply to each of your feedback so you know we are addressing them I understand you may not be using the software going forward but we will continue to make improvements for our other users because we are here for the long game, it may not be perfect on day one but we will make changes faster than any other accounting software out there to make sure our users are getting the most of out of it. One additional thing, from the start we were very clear this was built for the US market, we do have other markets in the roadmap.
-Previewing Invoices: We are fully revamping our invoice feature in about 1-2 weeks with customizable templates and many more improvements as requested by many users. The workaround to preview the PDF of the invoice now is to download the PDF, which you can currently do in Tabby, but a "Live Preview" is coming.
-Editing Transactions: Transactions imported directly from the bank cannot have their amounts or descriptions edited. This is a standard security protocol to ensure the data matches your bank records exactly. However, you can fully edit the categorization.
-Sales Tax: You can include sales tax on transactions; you just need to set up your specific tax rates in the settings first.
-Splitting Transactions: We do have a split feature. If you type "split" into the categorization field, the system will allow you to break down the transaction.
-Payment Processing: Since processing payments is a sensitive matter, we are taking the time to build it correctly. Stripe integration is on our roadmap for January 2026.
Regarding your comparison to Wave: Wave has been established since 2009, while Tabby is less than a year old. Their business model relies on payment processing fees, whereas we are a subscription-based AI platform. The goal of this Lifetime Deal is to provide you with a tool that will eventually automate 80% of your bookkeeping, saving you significantly more time and money than a $120/year premium plan elsewhere.
We appreciate you giving us a try and also appreciate the feedback which we will use to improve Tabby.
