Really wanted to love it, but have reservations
I really wanted to love Tabby. I purchased the third tier for one company and was planning on purchasing another subscription for a second company. However, after a thorough review, I have some serious reservations:
Pros:
1. Easy to setup
2. Intuitive
3. Fast
4. User-friendly
5. Convenient
Cons:
1. You can’t drill down into the transaction when viewing transactions report
2. It’s super annoying that I can’t delete Domino’s, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, 7-Eleven, Walmart, Amazon, Target, Best Buy, Costco, Home Depot, Publix, Nissan, etc. from the list of vendors (they’re locked for some reason). I haven’t purchased from any of these vendors. I should have control of deleting information I don’t want in my own company’s data. It feels like an advertisement for these vendors.
3. Vendors I have paid do not appear in the list.
4. You can’t change the account numbers in the chart of accounts or create your own groupings.
5. You can only view 10 transactions on the page. This is a huge waste of time – I’d rather be able to choose how many transactions I can see on a page (i.e. 25, 50, 100, etc.)
6. Help Center is in not developed yet. I conducted simple searches, such as “opening balance” and “chart of accounts” and nothing was found.
7. There’s no way to update your communication preferences in your account settings. (besides SMS and email notifications)...or update your communication preferences in your account settings. I was unable to find the “do not sell or share my personal information” link on their website as mentioned in their privacy policy.
8. It’s a privacy nightmare. Unless you opt-out using opt-out tools, your data will be used for advertising and retargeting. Be sure to read their privacy policy and make sure you’re comfortable with where data is shared, how long it’s shared and how it’s used. For example, Section 18.7: “Sharing: We may “share” personal information with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising, which may be considered a “sale” or “share” under CCPA/CPRA.” Plus, who knows how AI is using your data.
I'll probably request a refund unless some of these issues are addressed.

Dec 23, 2025Hi there,
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on Tabby. We really appreciate your detailed feedback and are committed to using it to make Tabby even better. Let me address each of your points:
1. Drilling Down on Reports: You can currently drill down on the balance sheet and P&L reports to see detailed transactions. We're working on adding this feature to the expense report, and it should be available in about 30 days.
2. Vendor List: We understand your concern about the locked vendors. These were part of our testing phase and will be removed soon. You'll have the option to edit and delete vendors manually in a couple of days.
3. Vendor Transactions: You should be able to see all vendors you've paid under the vendors section. We're investigating why some transactions aren't showing and expect a fix in a few days.
4. Chart of Accounts: We're adding the ability to update account numbers and create custom groupings. This feature should be available shortly.
5. Viewing Transactions: You can change the number of transactions displayed per page to 10, 25, 50, or 100. We're updating the default setting to 25 soon.
6. Help Center: We're actively working on making our Help Center more robust. Your feedback is invaluable here.
7 & 8. Privacy Concerns: We take privacy seriously and are revising our policy to make it clearer. We don't plan to sell or share your data without consent and will add a "do not sell or share" option.
We hope you'll stick around to see these improvements. While we may not be perfect from day one, we're constantly evolving and believe we can offer a fresh alternative to legacy software like QuickBooks.
Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope you'll give Tabby another chance.
