Teable has received praise for its efficient data management, powerful AI capabilities, and responsive customer support. However, there have been some concerns about rapid credit consumption and occasional AI errors. Despite these issues, Teable remains a solid choice for those in need of an AI-native system for projects, CRM, and marketing, especially with its 60-day money-back guarantee.

Absolutely Blown Away - A True Game Changer! (Don't Sleep on This!)

Honestly, I never thought I'd end up buying Teable.ai. It wasn't the most eye-catching listing on AppSumo at first glance. However, after seeing a recommendation on Facebook, I decided to sign up for the free account to give it a try. And wow, it exceed my expectations!

I challenged it by asking it to generate a CRM with an invoice generator, mentioning I have three brands. Within moments, it created a new database, set up the corresponding tables, and even built an app. I was absolutely stunned. I immediately thought about how much time I had wasted just a few days prior trying to self-host a CRM and use Claude to create an invoice generator – a complete waste of time!

Seeing its impressive GitHub presence (21k stars!) and knowing it's backed by reputable VCs (investors behind Manus, HeyGen), I made the decision to purchase the T2 plan on the spot. I'm even planning to upgrade to the Max Plan once they resolve the faster-than-expected credit consumption issue.

Here's a fun anecdote: they actually pay users for helping them develop integrations! Can you believe that? It truly shows they are serious about building this product the right way.

For anyone still on the fence, I have a few points:

Try the free account: Seriously, just sign up and see what kind of massive improvements Teable can bring to your workflow. I'm confident you'll feel the same way – this is a true game-changer.

Credit Consumption Optimization: The Teable team has committed to working on credit consumption optimization and will start beta testing next week (I've already been invited).

Understanding Credit Usage: The rapid credit consumption is partly due to a potential bug, but also, many might not realize their default model is Claude Opus 4.6 – which is incredibly expensive! However, you can easily switch to more cost-effective models like Claude Sonnet 4.6 in the backend.

I've put a lot of effort into this review because I genuinely want more users to join. More users mean better product experience and faster improvements.

So far, apart from the credit issue, I am completely satisfied! I truly hope the Teable team sticks to their promise and provides all future updates to LTD users, unlike some SaaS companies that conveniently sideline their loyal early supporters.

A small suggestion for the team: Please consider creating a public roadmap, an integration request board, and a user template library. This would significantly boost user engagement and further optimize the product and user experience!

Great App, but credits should reflect builder-phases

I started testing Table and must say I absolutely love the design. The tables are super fast, way faster than Clay, for instance, and I found it super useful.

For example, I'm currently in the process of hiring an additional employee. I gave it some screenshots of candidate names, asked it to make a table including different status columns, and it did a good job within seconds. It only cost ten or twenty credits, so this was super efficient.

Besides that, at least in the table view, you can do a lot of things even without credits. In other reviews, I read that people are asking the chat to add a column with a drop-down field of different options, but you can also do it manually by adding the column and selecting the right format.

For me, it's also a good way to quickly show clients data sets that I prepare in another software. I quickly download and upload the CSV into Table and can show it there.

What I don't like is the current credit system. I do not believe that credit usage is static or linear. I believe that people and users will use it differently each month. I can understand that you can't roll over all the credits forever because then you will not have a sustainable business model. But what I would expect is that people on a tier three or tier four plan should be able, every once in a while, to build an application with the given credits. In order to do so, I think credits should accumulate to two or three times the monthly volume. So when the user is going into a builder phase and wants to build a new app, they can actually do it without having to pay for additional credits.

Currently on Tier-3. Would upgrade to Tier-4 if I can be - more or less - sure that credits will be sufficient to build some apps in the future.

Good App, but Better Guidance Needed for Optimized Use

I wasted a lot of credits at first while trying to build an app that never worked. For simple database categorization, the default prompt worked fine, but I still ended up burning through around 1800 credits across just four prompts — one main prompt and three refinement prompts.
Later, when I explored the settings, I realized there’s a model selection option, and that alone makes a huge difference. I switched to DeepSeek 3.2 as a test, and even though the tool mainly recommends Gemini, Claude, and OpenAI models, DeepSeek 3.2 under AI Settings actually helped me a lot. With it credit usage was very low than before.
One thing that really needs improvement is the tutorials. They should clearly explain:
- What actions consume credits
- What actions do NOT consume credits
- How to optimize credit usage
- Which settings matter the most
Right now, it’s not intuitive. You have to navigate through multiple menus just to understand or track your actual credit usage. Without clearer guidance, people will waste credits and eventually stop using the tool.
I hope these get addressed for better user experience.

Hi Krish19, thanks for the review. Here's a quick breakdown on credits:
What consumes credits: Only AI-powered features — AI Fields, AI Chat, and App Builder.
What does NOT consume credits: Everything else — automations, views, forms, API access and access apps after built etc.

How to optimize credit usage:
AI Fields: You can choose from 100+ models. For batch AI tasks, picking a cost-efficient...

IDEA IT'S GOOD BUT THE CURRENT MODEL NOT

Teable has a very solid foundation. The database structure is sound, and the idea of combining it with AI has great potential.
BIG PROBLEMS:
1- AI mandatory for almost everything. Credit system makes development and maintenance frustrating: small changes consume a lot of credits, the AI makes mistakes, crashes, or unnecessarily rewrites large parts of the app. So the process expensive and unpredictable.
2- Basic tools that shouldn’t rely on AI are missing, like manual dashboards, simple charts, pivot tables and reports. 3- Analysing your own data SHOULDN'T CONSUME CREDITS; these are STANDARD features on any data platform.

IDEA IT'S GOOD BUT THE CURRENT MODEL NOT. With these changes, Teable could become a truly strong and sustainable product.
- It provided more manual control for visualisation, reporting and simple adjustments.
- It reserved AI for complex tasks and automation.
- It made credit consumption more proportional and predictable.

Hi TheGar, thank you for the direct feedback.
On credit consumption and AI efficiency:
We hear you. Teable takes an AI-driven approach to building — dashboards, charts, reports, custom layouts — because we believe the level of customization this unlocks far exceeds what static drag-and-drop templates can offer. But that power has to come at a predictable, reasonable cost, and right now it doesn't...

Used it with real data and I am Impressed.

Everything felt modern and uncluttered. I didn't feel overwhelmed, even with complex databases.

Watch my Detailed Video Review:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QesTfDE5SdI

Pros:

No Learning Curve: I literally chatted with it like a person. "Add a status field with options for New, In Progress, and Done", and it appeared.

Unlimited Core Features: Unlimited bases, unlimited tables, unlimited API calls, unlimited share views. This removes so many artificial limits that other tools impose.

Cons:

Quick consumption of Credits.

New Update:

Credits have been modified from the time I made he Video.

Hi Avinash, thank you for the detailed review and the YouTube video — really appreciate you taking the time to put that together for the community!

Great to hear the experience felt modern and intuitive. "Chatted with it like a person" is exactly the interaction we're going for.

On credits — glad you noticed the update. We've already added 2 months of upfront credits for all AppSumo users and...
