Great Product Potential to Become Amazing

This product is great. Yes, you do need a spare android phone. I invested in one even though I have everything Apple including Apple TV. I'm not a fan of Apple it's just the way it ended up. This product saves you lots of money in terms of SMS services to your end users or customers. The team seem friendly and helpful. My only thing is that the app for android needs to be improved. Based on communication with them that's work in progress and should be released in the coming days. The second thing I would say is that if they could create some kind of notification or even an app for other platforms like Mac and Windows it would basically take this platform on another level. Then I would consider it amazing. At the moment it is a great product as it is - just simply by saving you lots of money on your SMS to customers. Essentially, you're creating an SMS server using your phone. Anyway, I hope they keep plugging away at this product and keep improving it. It still feels like a work in progress to me. It has room for improvement and I'm being honest. Nevertheless, given the price point and what you get, it's great value for money - even after buying a new android handset. Thank you.

Thanks a lot for the honest review, this is exactly the kind of feedback that helps us push TextLink from “great value” to “amazing”.

You’re 100% right on the two main points:

Spare Android phone: Today, yes TextLink needs an Android device because that’s what physically sends the SMS (you’re basically turning it into your own SMS server). Many users grab a cheap dedicated Android just to keep their personal number/device separate.

Android app polish: Also fair. The Android side has been our biggest focus lately, and we’re actively shipping improvements to stability, connectivity, and overall UX.

On notifications + other platforms: agreed. The web app works on Mac/Windows already, but better desktop notifications (and a lightweight desktop companion) would take the experience to another level and it’s on our roadmap.

Appreciate you sticking with us and calling out what needs work. If you ever want to share what your ideal desktop notification flow looks like (sound, pop-up, email fallback, etc.), we’ll use that input while we build it.
