I have plan 3. Can I have multiple chats, sending messages to different slack accounts? Or can I only send all chats to one slack? Is each website 1 integration out of the 10 on slack free?
A: Hello ! The "Multiple Profiles" has just been released. You can add chat widgets (called "profiles") to several websites, but all chats will be redirected to one slack workspace.
Even if you have multiple profiles it only counts as one integration out of the 10 integrations included in Slack free plan.
You can redirect messages to different Slack channels on your workspace using our javascript API.
Here is the release message of the feature which we sent to our customers :
We’re thrilled to announce the release of the `Multiple Profiles` feature! You can now create different profiles for your Tiny Chat widget and *add it to multiple websites*. Best of all, this feature is *included in your current plan!* Here’s how it works:
- Head over to the "Profiles" page in your Tiny Chat dashboard. - Create a new profile to customize your widget. - Adjust profile settings, including appearance and custom messages. - Copy and paste the profile’s script tag into your website’s header. - Messages will still go to your `#tiny-chat` Slack channel (for now), but we’ve added a small note to indicate which website and profile the message is coming from.
*Bonus Tip:*
You can even use multiple profiles on the same website! For example:
- Use one profile for your landing page (focused on *sales*). - Use another for your product page (dedicated to *customer success*).
If you’re happy with your current setup, no worries—this feature is *entirely optional* and won’t affect your existing widget.
_As always, we’re working on making Tiny Chat even better. Stay tuned for future updates, including improvements to how messages are routed in Slack._
For example, communication platforms like Discord and Rocket Chat? Because the free plan of Slack has too low a limit, or users can set up related integrated communication platforms themselves.
A: Hello! At the moment, Tiny Chat is focused on integrating with Slack only. We understand the limitations of Slack's free plan, but it still allows up to 10 app integrations, including Tiny Chat, and offers 90 days of message history. The good news is that you can always request a full download of your Tiny Chat history from your dashboard.
Tiny Chat works best if you're already using Slack for your projects. While we’re not planning to support other platforms like Discord or Rocket Chat in the near future, we’re always open to feedback and will consider expanding as we grow!
A: It is a lifetime access, but to activate it you need to follow the process sent to you after the coupon's purchase. The process is simple, you need to click on "account and subscription" at the bottom left of your dashboard, then put your coupon in a text input labeled "AppSumo coupon".
Regular users only have access to recurrent subscription, this is why you need this small trick to activate your account.
I have sent you some screenshots by email to show you where this input is.
A: Just to clarify, are you using another Slack app that automatically replies to messages within Slack? And if this app replies within a Tiny Chat thread, you're wondering whether those replies will appear in the Tiny Chat widget just like other messages from Slack?
Mindsdb has a slack bot integration that can reply to messages on slack using llms. I guess if we use tinychat as a livechat for our website, and a visitor lands on the website we can use mindsdb bot as a conversatinal bot on the website widget.
That sounds like a great combo! Currently, this setup might not work as expected since we haven't optimized for this use case yet. However, it will be straightforward for us to make it compatible. Give us a day or two, and I’ll update you here once it's fully functional.
Hi! we made the feature :) But to prevent unwanted bots to respond you need to allow your bot first. For that go to your Tiny Chat dashboard -> Widget section -> interactions page -> allow external Slack bot to respond. You will have to put your Slack bot member ID there, there is indication on the page on how to find the member ID. Could you tell us if everything works fine? Thanks!
Q: GDPR
Is Tiny Chat GDPR compliant? What happens to the collected email addresses?
A: We did not take a GDPR audit, but we are aiming at being GDPR compliant.
* No Personal Data Collection by Default: We don’t collect personal data or fingerprint visitors' browsers. The only cookie we use is to ensure users can resume their conversation if they return to the site. You can read more about our cookie policy here: https://tiny-chat.com/legal/data/.
* Handling Personal Data: If you choose to collect personal data (e.g., logged-in user info) via our JavaScript API, it's your responsibility to include this in your own privacy policy.
* Email Addresses: We don’t use the email addresses collected through the chat widget. These are only transmitted to you, the site owner. By default, when asking for an email, the message states: "This will allow us to respond to you by email if we are unavailable. We won’t use your email for newsletters or any other purpose." If you plan to use the collected emails for marketing purposes, you must modify this message in your dashboard (under Widget -> Texts) to obtain proper visitor consent in line with GDPR requirements.
To my knowledge, it's not that simple and sending the user's email address first to your server (via API), then to Slack requires further steps to make it GDPR compliant. Any update on the audit that was mentioned in another thread?
Are you referring to the audit mentioned in this post? (I didn’t see another mention of an audit in the other questions.) As for a GDPR audit, I’d be happy to undergo one, but we can’t afford it at the moment. However, we are working towards complying with GDPR guidelines to successfully pass an audit in the future.
As Tiny Chat, we act as your data processor. You are the data controller, meaning you decide what data to collect through Tiny Chat. If you enable email collection (which can be disabled at any time from your dashboard), you must state in your data policy that you use Tiny Chat as your data processor and that you have instructed Tiny Chat to collect emails after obtaining consent.
> Are you referring to the audit mentioned in this post?
Yes, I thought it was in another post.
Maybe instead of a full audit, booking a GDPR freelancer for a few hours is all you need.
Q: does the widget display in the user's language?
I have a website with users from different nationalities. Are the widget texts translated into German for German users, French for French users, and so on?
A: Yes, Tiny Chat works seamlessly with international visitors. You just need to add your languages on the 'Widget > Texts and Translations' page in your dashboard. The widget will automatically adapt to the visitor's browser language and select one from your list. You can also modify each translation directly from your dashboard.
1. Does your platform offer a knowledge base where I can upload files, connect data sources, or add websites for crawling to train the chatbot? 2. Can your chatbot generate custom reports or summaries based on client data? 3. Does your system support automating responses, such as email replies, using uploaded or connected data? 4. What integrations do you offer (e.g., CRM, email platforms)? 5. Does your platform integrate with ChatGPT or other AI models? If so, how does it work? 6. What customization options exist for training the chatbot with detailed client-specific information?
A: 1. no 2. no 3. no 4. none, but we are currently working on a Zappier integration 5. possible with our javascript API. Especially with `window.tinyChat.sendBotMessage`, we will provide more docs on this use case soon. 6. you can download your chats by asking us, then train the model you use with our javascript API.
Note that Tiny Chat is simple and straightforward, we focus on connecting you to your website visitors through Slack.
Is it possible to create multiple Tiny Chat widget styles? Let's say I run two (tiny) businesses. Can I create one widget with blue primary color, and another one with yellow color? Also, can these widgets have different texts (headline and so on)?
A: Currently, the Tiny Chat dashboard allows you to manage one main profile per Slack workspace.
However, you can customize your widget's appearance and content on different websites using our JavaScript API. This lets you easily change the title and subtitle for each site. You can check out the documentation here: https://github.com/nils-tc/tiny-chat.com/tree/main/js-api. Specifically, you can use window.tinyChat.setTitle() and window.tinyChat.setSubtitle() to update these elements dynamically.
For CSS customization, we’ll be releasing detailed docs soon! In the meantime, feel free to reach out to us at contact@tiny-chat.com if you'd like help setting it up manually.
As an Sumo-ling, you also get personalized setup assistance, so don't hesitate to contact us for tailored advice! 😊
Thanks for your detailed answers! Great that things like the primary color will be configurable via the JS API! I hope there is a way to set the primary color once (and not for each element using the color). Maybe via CSS variable? Plus points for offering a framework-agnostic solution (not just React) 👍
I am glad that you noticed, the widget is pure javascript / css ;) We already use css variables, you can look for `--main-color` and `--text-color-over-main-color` . The css variables are within a shadow DOM, which can be a bit tricky to override them, that's why we will provide some docs soon. But if you already know how to do that, please go ahead!
Interesting! Overwriting shadow DOM styles it tricky, yes. Glad to hear that you will add a documentation for it. But good choice of using a web component for the widget!
A: The widget will not show anymore on your website when you reach the limit. I think this is the best to avoid users deception if they try to reach you on Tiny Chat and messages are not delivered.
Concerning this point we are also working to : * send you an alert on Slack when you have reached the limit * disable the widget, one day after the limit was reached. So you have time to finish conversations or to upgrade your plan if needed
A: Of course! When you install Tiny Chat it creates a #tiny-chat channel on Slack. You will only have to add your customer support person on this channel, that's all :)
A: When using Tiny Chat with Slack's free plan, there are a few limitations to keep in mind:
* App Limit: The free plan allows up to 10 apps in your workspace. As long as you're under this limit, you can use Tiny Chat without issues.
* Message History: Slack's free plan only stores 90 days of message history. This means you won’t be able to view conversations older than 90 days directly in Slack. However, you can request a full export of your chat history from us anytime.
A: You can add the widget to an unlimited number of websites with any of our plans. However, all messages will be sent to a single Slack workspace.
To organize the messages, you can use our JavaScript API to route them to different Slack channels based on the website's origin.
For security reasons, you’ll need to specify each domain in the "additional domains" field on the Team page of your dashboard. During the first 30 days, these domains will be automatically added, but after that period, you’ll need to manually input them.
A: Especially for Sumo-lings, we will add a checkbox on the 'Team' page of your Tiny Chat dashboard. You can uncheck it to remove the 'Powered by Tiny Chat' link from the widget. Please note that it will be enabled by default. We will implement this checkbox by Friday, October 11th.
