Actually BYOK is the only option for AppSumo plans, so we do not count input or output tokens. You're free to too the most expensive or cheapest model because you're in charge of the costs.

Message means literally a message your user sends to the chatbot, or a message you reply with to your user as the admin via Help Desk. We count those to allow fair usage of our infrastructure, bandwidth, storage etc. In the end we're in between the LLM provider and the visitors, processing/serving data and maintaining infrastructure, hence the limits..
