Q: Hello, With Acuity and Calendly, when a customer books an appointment it is automatically added to their ...
Google Calendar with links to the meeting or reschedule. They see bookings appear either as accepted or pending their acceptance in Google Calendar.
This is also done in a way that the calendar invitation is synced to the organiser's calendar so that a meeting can be rescheduled just by dragging it to a new time in the organiser's Google calendar.
In the Trafft demo calendar (https://careermasterycoaching.trafft.com/booking), we noticed that customers must select "Add to Calendar" in order for meetings to appear in the calendars and the event is not synced with the organiser's calendar. Until it is manually added, the booking doesn't appear in the customers booking calendar.
Is this only a limitation of the demo calendar or is this the normal way calendar invitations are managed in Trafft?
If it is currently the way it works, are there any plans to align Google calendar syncing between Trafft, Meeting Organiser and Customer (Appointment Scheduler) so that it is fully 2-way like Acuity and Calendly?
Thanks and looking forward to your feedback!

May 16, 2024A: Hi there and sorry for the delay!
The "Add to Calendar" feature on the front-end acts as a handy reminder for your customers, allowing them to add appointments to their calendars at their convenience. We'll work on improving it in the future, so it automatically pulls all the data from the appointment, but at this time it can only create an event that pulls the Service name, the date, and the time. The customer is left with filling out the description if they desire. However, this is not all.
When you set up Google/Outlook/Apple Calendar integration, you gain the ability to customize the Event Title and Event Description for these platforms. Additionally, if you opt to send event invitations to customers, they'll receive invites to accept the appointment in their Google/Outlook/Apple Calendar, complete with the details you've specified in the Calendar configuration.
Also, if the calendar event created from Trafft is dragged and dropped in Google, the appointment in Trafft will also be rescheduled. Please check out the documentation about Google Calendar on our official website (under Resources) and feel free to send us an email at help@trafft.com if you have any additional questions.
