This one is a keeper, but…
This is probably the most complete and feature rich booking platform I have tried, and I have tried most of them…
I have tried almost every booking platform that came through AppSumo. Trafft is by far the most complete and feature rich option I have seen. It offers significantly more flexibility than previous LTDs like BookLikeABoss and Lunacal.
For context, I have been a long time BookLikeABoss user, but the lack of meaningful improvements pushed me to look elsewhere. I recently picked up Lunacal as well, and there is simply no comparison. Trafft is in a different league.
The level of customization is incredible. You can create almost any booking flow, package, add on, or cross sell structure you can think of. Aside from the limitation on how many sessions per service per day can be booked, the system is extremely flexible.
Now for the reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5.
The product is powerful, but the setup experience is complicated. With so many features and configuration options, the learning curve is steep. For the first time in a long time, a product actually made me feel confused. I genuinely could not set up a service from start to finish without trying several times. There are too many screens to jump between, and even when duplicating services, only part of the configuration copies over. You constantly feel like you are stitching things together manually.
This is where I believe the product would benefit massively from an AI assistant that simply asks, “What type of booking would you like to create?” and then builds the entire workflow for you automatically. Right now, the UX requires too much juggling, and it slows down the process.
The second major issue is SMS pricing. One dollar per text before tax means you pay almost one point three dollars per message. With the volume of reminders and confirmations I send, I would pay more in a week than my entire monthly Starlink bill. There is also no Twilio integration, which is badly needed. I understand they must protect their costs and infrastructure, but using our own Twilio account at a few cents per message would solve this completely.
With all that said, I want to highlight the positive side because it is strong.
Trafft offers a client booking portal, which is a game changer for anyone selling packages or working with clients long term. My clients love having full control over their bookings. It reduces support, reduces back and forth, and delivers a far better experience.
The customization of notifications is also excellent. Both employee and customer alerts are highly configurable, and their workflow builder gives you real power to tailor the system to your exact needs.
Overall, this is a premium level tool with an enormous amount of potential. If the complexity can be reduced and SMS costs addressed, it will be the top booking platform on the market.
A huge shoutout for a very responsive support team as well!
I am keeping it, and I look forward to seeing how the product evolves.

Nov 21, 2025Hey, thanks so much for taking the time to write such a detailed review!
It really means a lot coming from someone who’s tried so many booking tools, and we’re happy to hear Trafft stands out.
About the learning curve – you’re absolutely right that Trafft has a broad feature set, and when a system covers a lot of different use cases, it does take a little time to get familiar with everything. That said, you’re not the only one who felt this way, and we’re actively simplifying flows and grouping related settings more intuitively. We’ve explored the idea of an AI setup assistant, too. The challenge is that booking logic depends on dozens of variables that need human judgment – things like work hours, buffer times, time slot step, service durations, overlapping rules, and so on. Automating those safely, without breaking someone’s workflow, is a huge project. A basic assistant may happen in the future, but anything fully automated would likely resemble the dummy setup that the plugin already creates on first install. For now, we’ll keep easing the onboarding experience in more practical ways.
Regarding SMS pricing, a message costing more than $1 usually points to either a long text or the message switching to UNICODE because of special characters. That change alone can multiply the cost dramatically. We totally understand that SMS fees can feel high compared to Twilio or local providers, but prices like the one you described are extremely rare. Please reach out to our support team so we can look into exactly what happened. We’ll happily break down the cost calculation with you.
All that said, we truly appreciate your balanced feedback. You highlighted what works well and what needs attention, which does help us improve in the right direction. It's also great to hear you’re sticking with Trafft!
Thanks again for the honest review and the shoutout to the support team. It means a lot.
