I have been using Roboform for a long time and am currently considering a switch to pCloud Pass or TransferChain Pass. Are you able to compare your product with Roboform and pCloud Pass? Thank you.
TransferChain Pass ✔️ Client-side & end-to-end encryption — passwords are encrypted before leaving your device ✔️ Data fragmentation — encrypted data is split into pieces on your device ✔️ Distributed storage — fragments are stored across multiple cloud providers ✔️ Blockchain-based authorization — ensures tamper-proof access control and logs ✔️ Zero-knowledge by design — not...
Hi Mert, thank you for your answer; I will definitely try out TransferChain Pass.
Q: Notes, Import, Export and generic keys.
Hello there,
I already use TransferChain that is really a great product.
I use a very rudimentary home-made password manager. It is a plain text file (YAML format, GPG encrypted). It works, but it is obviously not user-friendly. I have a few questions:
(1) Can I bulk-import my passwords from a text file (not a must)?
(2) Is it possible to link a password to a generic key rather than to a specific URL? For instance, I possess a router that is identified solely by a name, lacking a URL.
(3) Is it possible for me to include a note for each entry? I have notes today, in addition to URL/Key and passwords.
(4) Can I download from time to time all the passwords and notes in a plain text file to save it?
1️⃣ Bulk Import from a Text File (TXT) Currently, TransferChain Pass supports imports via .CSV format, not plain .TXT.
2️⃣ Passwords Without URLs (Generic Keys) At the moment, there’s no option to create a password entry without a URL field, but we’re working on expanding our Secure Notes feature. Once live, you’ll be able to store API keys, router credentials, or any sensitive data...
Yes — TransferChain Pass is compatible with Linux devices via the Chrome browser extension, and works smoothly with Chromium-based browsers (like Brave or Edge on Linux as well).
Heylogin has been on the market for quite a while - easy UI, Founders background in IT Security, simple, secure password sharing to end users/clients and they support 2FA (TOTP) codes within one app. They have a deal going on as well (one can google if interested).
Their issue is that if users want to grow past 15 individuals, one would need to pay for a subscription. Your solution seems to benefit larger groups, but aside from this, could you guys explain why one should go with TransferChain instead of that tool?
I’ve tried to touch base on the differences in a few categories to be able to give you the whole scope. Here’s a clear breakdown of the core approaches;
🔐 Data Security:
TransferChain ✔️ Client-side & end-to-end encryption — passwords are encrypted before leaving your device (not hashed) ✔️ Data fragmentation — encrypted data is split into pieces on your device ✔️ Distributed...
We’ve been actively evaluating how to approach it. The main challenge is the paradox that if both the password and the TOTP secret live in the same vault, it undermines the very purpose of MFA. Some password managers offer this but they are taking security trade-offs for convenience.
That’s why instead of rushing it, we’re exploring ways to implement TOTP without compromising security
While I do understand the importance of ensuring that security & compliance come first for the TransferChain Org, I do believe that you will be alienating a lot of your userbase by creating two different apps as a solution. The theory sounds credible, but the APPLICATION to use it sounds like a disaster.
How about integrating light elements of TOTP into this app itself? That can work.

Hi Mert, thanks indeed. CSV is just fine (I can translate), I will surely give it a try.
Q: Linux Compatibility
Hi, will it also be compatible with devices running Linux and work flawlessly?
Thanks

Does your tool support secure password sharing among developers, and can it handle multi-factor authentication (MFA) for shared accounts?

Sep 5, 2025A: Hi skenway,
Yes — TransferChain Pass allows end-to-end encrypted password sharing within your organization (e.g. other developers, contractors, etc.).
-Share individual passwords or entire folders
- Assign granular access rights:
Limited Rights: Can use & autofill the password, but can’t view, edit, or share it
Full Rights: Can view, edit, copy, and re-share the item
All sharing is...

Whats the ETA for TOTP? Even a rough estimate.
