Up until now I only tried the Wordpress plugin and yet have to try the video functionality which is in beta and only works by manual setup – but it works very well and improves the loading times and therefore the UX. Great tool!
I tried several image compression and site speeding tools and WordPress plugins, but they often caused problems, such as images not displaying or the site going blank.
Twicpics delivers optimised images through CDN without processing the site's images, so I was able to make my site faster without the above problems.
In total, the site has about 400,000 PV per month, but the data usage is only about 10 GB per month at most.
Image optimization is a must nowadays, and Twicpic does it right.
I first saw Twicpic's name on the list of providers for the NuxtJS image module. When I saw it on Appsumo, I decided to give it a try.
My primary goal was to use Twicpic in NuxtJS projects. However, after a few tests, I was pleased to discover that it worked seamlessly with WordPress.
So far, I have successfully tested Twicpic with NuxtJS, WordPress using the Divi page builder, WordPress using the Breakdance builder, and via Amazon S3.
However, I have not yet had a chance to try video optimization, detailed transformations, and parameters.
The service itself is excellent and does exactly what it says on the box. Integration is easy and it saves a heap of time and energy by no longer needing to work out the perfect image sizes.
I have used the Javascript integration method and it works perfectly as far as I can tell. Images are delivered at the exact size that I need them at substantially lower file sizes.
Now that custom domains can be set up in the back end it is a quick and easy process.
I've had to contact support twice and they have been helpful and reasonably quick to reply.
With large images, gifs and video being largely responsible for slow websites and, typically as a result, lower ranking, it's important to get this right for SEO and user experience.
Implemented TwicPics in my SaaS (Quickblog) and immediately saw a 68% reduction in traffic usage. This means my users' blogs are loading much faster on average - speed is king for website conversions.
This is gold-dust if you own a SaaS or Website with a lot of media-rich traffic. I've already upgraded to the 150GB traffic plan, should ensure plenty of growth for Quickblog.
