Q: Your courses and platform look great :) I do have a major concern though, I see that you are now offering a ...

job board and advertising that there is a talent pool of 80k designers. Which sounds like the entire pool of designers on your platform?

What I want to know is, is this feature completely isolated from our team employees?

As in, our employees will never receive emails about this feature, or have it visible or available to them in any way?

If not, it would be a huge issue. I have had to cancel using Hubstaff (time tracking) in the past due to practices like this (advertising Hubstaff talent to our employees). Which was a huge breach of trust for a paid service.

Obviously it would be a really big issue for us to onboard our team, then have any features that encourage employees to find a different job. Investing in upskilling our employees only to be adding them to a job seeker pool would be extremely counter productive.

Honestly, having the feature at all is a conflict of interest in my opinion. I was quite sure about buying before seeing this and disappointed that this is likely a deal breaker.

Most enterprises and large businesses have robust protections in place to prevent head hunters from calling and contacting their employees through official lines of communication and other vectors. None would want to serve up their employees on a silver platter to other employers. Directly or indirectly. I think if you ask for feedback from companies in your target market, you will find this to be overwhelmingly true.

Purchasing this would be a no-brainer otherwise. In my opinion you can either be a paid upskilling service or a job seeker platform, not both.

A: Hi Misty, thank you for such detailed feedback.
We understand your concern, and it is something that we are looking at right now. Since the job board and career piece were just introduced — the main goal is to help individual designers(free and Pro individual plans) advance their careers.
We're right now planning and deciding how to treat career functionality for the team users. For day 1, we'll probably hide Job board and all related announcements for all team users except admins. And later, we're considering putting this under team workspace settings and letting team admins decide.
If you decide to onboard your team, please get in touch with our support to hide the Job board from your team members.
Again, thank you for raising this. Your feedback will help us improve our Team offering.

On a side note, I'm a believer in investing in team education, and the point of view is well written in this article.

I would love to hear your thoughts on that!

Thank you Gene, appreciate the response and happy you have taken the feedback.

Hope you had a great Christmas :)

Regarding the linked article, I agree. But I don’t think it is really related to this issue.

The advantages of proactively advertising employment opportunities for other companies to our employees are:
______

Cannot think of any, only downsides.

It goes without saying that training can be done without this risk. It is not related to trust, just being pragmatic.

Employees are of course free to leave whenever they like and would not want an employee to stay that does not enjoy their job.

Regarding external role-based assessments per year, do candidate employees need to create an account to complete the assessments? They will not be exposed to the job board (or related emails) correct?

For teams, things like:
https://app.uxcel.com/skill-tests
“Stand out from the crowd”

https://app.uxcel.com/courses
“Certificates of Completion”

These descriptions and the features themselves are not ideal in the context of a team account. Basically any employment seeking features are not ideal in the context of a team account, as it is for internal training purposes, so features like this should be geared for internal use only.

Thank you!

Hi Misty! I hope you had a great Christmas too!

I agree that the team account and hiring features are not optimally set up right now. I'm bringing your points for our features and backlog planning — intending to address your concerns asap.

Answering your other question:
The candidate you invite will need to create an account but won't be automatically exposed to all the marketing and other emails. They will only receive 1 email with an invite to explore more of what Uxcel can offer.
If you want to send it to your employee (but they are not on the Uxcel's team plan) — I see what can be a concern here. Noted.

This is a big problem as well. As a paid product, I'd expect the user's, our team's privacy to be protected. I purchased Tier 3, but I'm not comfortable with this business model. This is like you're using paying customers' team members to grow candidates for your own HR pool.

If an employer pays with time, resources and money for staff growth - they should have the say on how their data is used. This is a big conflict of interest as the previous poster mentioned.

I also believe in investing in employees education, that's why we're here. But I think you're mixing up two things. Investing on team's growth and education is not the same as asking your staff to go and register on a job board. (I know the job board can be turned off, but when a user registers, they still get all options as CV, networking, summary etc).

There's also an option saying "Open to Work". with the words "Let us know if you’re interested in being matched with fantastic job opportunities from top companies worldwide.". Which employer in their right mind will PAY and ask their team to do this?

I think your product is good, but there must be a clear separation between work profile and personal profile. Similar to how Google Workspaces work. And the team leader must have the freedom to delete all data associated with the user (not just remove them from team)
