As a copywriter with a strong design interest Uxcel helps me fill in the 'theory' gaps in my design know-how.

Uxcel has helped me to get really clear on why something is best practice, in UX, UI and visual design. I can now discuss choices an informed way, when organising copy on a page (wireframing). Not just what to do but specifically why to do it.

Uxcel gives me a way to 'prove' (verify) my expertise to clients with certificates I can share to social media, and skill badges I can put on my website.

The gamified learning is incredibly well designed (I use dark mode which is most comfortable for and happy to have that option). There are 2 option multi-choice questions throughout the lessons and all subject level and skill-set tests. It's online learning at its best.

As a non-auditory learner (i.e. I don't learn well by listening) I am so over it with video lessons everywhere that I have to sit through hours of people talking to pick out the key knowledge I need. (And then put it in some kind of order or format I can actually process the information for myself.)

With Uxcel, it's such a refreshing change to just be able to read the theory, save the key examples I want to be able to refer back to. And soak up all that knowledge in a way that feels almost effortless for me. And it's definitely fun!

Uxcel lessons break concepts and theories down into bitesize chunks which are easy to process. The lessons clearly explained and the visual examples help solidify the new knowledge (or help you revisit/revise to keep expertise fresh and top of mind). The system of repeating questions till you get them right, in order to pass a level test, helps bed that knowledge in. (Then re-testing you to pass 'level tests' in specific subjects).

Having a system of earning points for successful completion of lessons and levels, seeing myself go up a leaderboard, having certificates I can share my LinkedIn keep me motivated and engaged. I can't wait to get back to it!

As a final recommendation I was also really impressed with the generosity of the team.

I had already subscribed to an annual pro membership late last year (2021). But I was very keen for the lifetime deal when I saw it on AppSumo. I emailed support and they kindly refunded an significant amount of my previously paid annual subscription, so that I could invest in the lifetime deal at no extra cost.

I know that Uxcel is going to be my go-to foundational training in UX and design. To build my professional credibility in these skills and show me where I would like to focus on in more depth.
