Back for an update.
I had previously expressed concerns about not being able to download videos, recordings cutting off at 60 minutes, and the recordings timing out when paused (see original review below). Over the past 2 days (weekend), Chris reached out to my distress messages and tried to help resolve the issues. Shortly after, I received a detailed explanation from the founder, Andre, including a helpful Vento recording, regarding the download issue. Turns out, it was user error on my part (facepalm!). Andre also clarified the current 60-minute recording limit, but assured me longer recording times are planned for future updates. The download issue, which was sitewide, has now been resolved.
While the recent issues were frustrating, the Vento team's quick response and dedication to helping me truly reinforced my initial positive feelings about the software. I'm back to loving Vento! Now, I just need to ask Chris and Andre about an affiliate program... lol! 5 tacos from me!
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Let me start by saying that I was referred to Vento by another user to replace my Loom account. I purchased it and immediately liked it. I use it for teaching and download the videos to repurpose content for our course portal.
Well, THE VIDEOS WON'T DOWNLOAD! I have reached out to customer support a few times over the past few months. Once, I saw that someone read the message but never responded. I figured that the lack of response was possibly due to a language barrier (even though technology could solve that problem). Again, this weekend I reached out twice but have yet to receive a human response (the chatbot is useless).
Also, the recordings have been stopping at the 60 minute mark (my classes are 90 minutes) and cutting off my lectures.
Lastly, when I pause a recording, it times out after a few minutes, forcing me to start an entirely new recording of the same class.
At this time, I cannot give Vento 5 tacos because there's far too many issues. Once these issues are resolved, I'll gladly return to update.
