Q: Forced Updates

Hi! It seems that for the CLI, if there is a new release, the update is forced immediately and all vexp commands become non functional, with output: ‘vexp update required!’. This is not what I would expect from minor version updates. Is this intended behaviour?

Q: API call limits?

I saw a site with a review that I think might be of an earlier AS offering, but it said the tier 1 has the same 20 API call limits the free plan does. I'm not seeing that in your offering, and none of the reviews have mentioned it, I but are there any limits one should be aware of for the tier 1 plan not listed here (such as daily api call limits). Appreciate the extra details.

Q: Questions about Vexp compatibility with Claude Code and ShadowGit

Hello,

I have two questions about Vexp:

Is Vexp compatible with the macOS app **Claude Code**, and can it be used in conjunction with it?

What is the main difference between **Vexp** and **ShadowGit**?

If **ShadowGit** is different, can the two solutions be used together?

Thank you in advance for your clarification.

A: Claude Code on macOS: yes. It’s one of the agents vexp auto-configures, and it’s one of the most mature integrations we have, so it works well on macOS. You install vexp, run setup, and it wires up Claude Code for you.

ShadowGit: it’s complementary, not a competitor, because it solves a different problem. ShadowGit gives your AI the time dimension of your code: it auto-captures every change (a...

Q: Is there such was to connecting this to systems like base44, and emergent?

Currently have a complex build going and it constantly is running away with credits with each project call costing me 100+$ trying to find a solution and wondering if this can connect in any way to help with that.

A: I'll be straight with you, because you're clearly burning real money and I don't want to sell you false hope: no, vexp can't connect to Base44 or Emergent to reduce their credit usage.

Those are cloud no-code platforms, they generate and run your app on their own infrastructure and their own credits. vexp works differently: it's a local tool that feeds code context to a coding agent running on...
